Well after several months of moving into the house it's about time I got it looking somwhat post worthy. Still it needs work and that's where I need your guys help with suggestions and ideas.
I started with a typical 1978 2 car SoCal garage; dark, dim, 115deg hot and depressing. It had no rafters on the back half of the garage so I built out a frame for the drywall which took several nights of working. I then insulated the ceiling with R38 insulation. Then I put 5/8" drywall up, mud-taped the walls, ceilings, one coat of Behr white primer and one coat of Behr Satin Finish ultra white paint and the results are fairly good. This is not my dream garage by any means, not even close just like the house isn't but it's comfortable and meets most of my current needs.

I still have to figure out where and how to place all my toolboxes etc for the most optimum layout. The garage is not too deep so I don't want to place stuff along the front wall. I want to put my mid-rise lift on the right side of the garage so I have plenty of front access unlike the other side with the washer/dryer. Most of the time I'll be parking only one of the 4 cars in there - the race/project car. But there will be times when I might have to work on a different car over the period of a few days so I want to have enough room to store two cars inside when needed. Besides, I may not want to use the lift for a few jobs so I need a second "bay" without the lift. I removed the bottom part of the old shelving unit that was along the left wall as you can see in the before and after pics so that allows two cars to be parked. However, I'm going to have to get creative in where I place the toolboxes, welder etc (all listed in the layout pic below). I also need to add more lighting and finish wiring up the new 20A circuit I ran before closing the ceiling.
The right wall looks empty, not sure what it's missing, any ideas what to put here? I can hang a large 4x8 pegboard sideways or built another shelf like the other wall. I need the floor space open so I can work on that side of the lift. Otherwise I would've built an integrated wall cabinet and workbench system from Lowes or Gladiator etc.
Last but not least many thanks to all of you guys here that helped with many of my questions along the way which honestly helped save a chunk of money that I can now spend on more tools
