My 2 Lista cabinets restoration

I've got these 2 Lista cabinets as well as a base for them which isn't shown here and won't be used for a base anymore. It doesn't looks so bad from the pictures, but the paint was really poorly redone on them and was coming off at many places. Bearings weren't working well but the 50/50 Acetone/ATF Mix did a great job a releasing really old grease/dirt stuff from them. I did use aircraft strippers to remove old paint as well as the original paint then had to weld a few holes that were made from metal screws directly into the cabinet... That said, is really not near a perfect job, but I need to get things moving on in the garage and can't afford to take more times on those. I hope you will still enjoy the restoration I've done.

Great job. I was really liking the black with blue pulls, then you had to go and replace them with aluminum.

Well, I did like the blue & black color scheme too, but wanted to get back the original aluminum handles. Even if I wanted to keep the black & blue, some handles had some issues with the original paint and it's more convenient to have the OEM handle than plain sheet metal handle

Oh wow ! thank you Carl, I don't believe they are that great, but for sure way better that when I got them ! It's nice to get some nice comments like that ! I should definitely post more of the work I do in the garage and all around. I really like to take times looking at GJ members posts and when it turn out that I should take some times to post here, it's often end up with nothing...

That came out great! The paint job looks great did you use a paint gun? Or cans? Roller?
I just did the same thing with two Lista cabinets (see my thread if you're bored) I will say it was a lot of work and when it's all said and done it's a great feeling of accomplishment but Motorhead Extraordinaire's junkyard specials were real tempting.

I've used Acrythane. There's 3 coats, but 2 would have been enough. The third one was more the "left over" in my paint gun and since I had nothing else at the moment to paint then I decided to go for a third coat.
