Looks great so far. BTW the house and trim colors are the same as mine. Questions from the last photos; what is the distance from the garage to the back of the house, and also, how far past the house back corner does the garage extend into the yard ? I'm planning a similar build, and want to see how this will impact getting vehicles in and out. Looks like I have a tighter area than you do.

Let me see if I can get a pic. I'd guess it's about 25 ft. or so. We cut the driveway back farther than planned and widened it farther than planned and it still may not be enough. It's pretty tight. My wife's mini can swing it, but she still gets in the grass a bit backing out. I'd have to do a 7 pt. turn to get my truck out of that side. And essentially the center of the garage goes down the right edge of the driveway-the right bay is behind the house.
We just kind of had to guess the angles and where everything should go becasue we didn't realize how tight it would be until after we took that section of driveway out. If I was starting where you are right now, I'd lay some ropes or lines out and try some different scenarios with your vehicles before you start. And we would have been fine had the inspector not made us shift the building 8" forward and 1' to the right. Doesn't sound like much but when you're dealing with angles that little bit makes a difference.

No more carport - I've got doors!
First up are the twin 3800's. Okay. These are cool. Never thought I'd say that about a garage door opener, but they are. So freakin' quiet I have to look to make sure they're running. Need to clean up the wires & stuff still. Thinks like the inconsistency of how the wires are ******* bugs me.
And the doors. Yeah, they're huge. I think once we paint them (trim color and then the inserts will be body color), it will bring them down in scale. Ain't nobody seein' in my windows! They're CHI 5300 series. Insulated & steel lined. Not sure if we'll put the carriage door hardware on them or not-waiting to see what they look like painted.
And here's a shot down the side of the house to show how much it's 'behind' the house and how tight the turn is. If we had gone any wider I think we would have had to make a concrete area to do a 3 pt. turn in. The step in the lower right hand corner doesn't help matters either. It's got to go out into the driveway though - they're already 9' risers with 8" treads. Plan is eventually to move that door around back so we can have normal steps.
Plan is to get the doors painted this weekend and get a few other little things done before we start on the interior.

Here are the doors painted. Outside is pretty much done except scraping windows & landscaping.
Going to get about half the OSB / insulation tonight. Have to get the rest in another trip. It's over a ton of OSB and my truck doesn't do well with that much in it. Wife's brother (a carpenter) is coming up to help us this weekend get it all hung. I'm okay with the full sheets and single cuts - it's the going around stuff (outlets, windows) that I have trouble with.

Don't have any photos yet, but this weekend my BiL and I got all but a few sheets of the 1/2" OSB up. Came up 3 sheets short and my wife and I can do those cuts (they're simple) and wrap it up. He had a Paslode propane framing nailer - very cool. I was trying to help with the hammer and by the time I got two nails in, I was already in his way. So I gave up on the hand-nailing.
We hung 39 sheets in 15 hours. Our of those 39, 3 did not require a cut (electrical, window, door, etc.) of some kind. Only one mis-cut (marked an electrical box to the wrong side) and we were able to salvage about 90% of that sheet for other places.

Kart....at one time weren't you talking about building a garage similar to your parents garage with the high pitched roof, or was it the idea of what to do with the upstairs of your parents garage? I can't remember and hell...it may have even been someone else. 
I was thinking your parents had a brick garage with something like a 8/12 pitch. Oh well!!! 
Anyways, I like the looks of your garage. every time I see one with high ceilings and walls, I kick myself for not building mine that way. I have many bruises too.

Yeah, that's Mom's garage. Mine barely has enough room in the trusses to crawl through to do blown in insulation!

Okay - time for some interior updates. Pretty much done except for some painting in the back room and a few little touch ups. And then I can start on my workbench / cabinets and putting stuff in it. Been working solid every evening after work and all weekend. We've got somewhere around 30 gallons on paint just in the interior.
Here's the back storage room for garden stuff. Still needs another coat of paint.
The center wall with my GUV and CordWinder.
Plenty of room for the Z. The little shelf on the right holds my stereo.
The Liftmasters with the wires all cleaned up.
The panel & speakers. Speakers are mainly for when I'm washing the car & stuff so I don't have to drag my iPod dock out there.

how tall are the walls, what is the ceiling height inside and how high is the tallest point in the roof on outside...thanks. looks really great.
Walls are 10'4" inside. Overall height is somewhere around 15' - kind of depends on where you measure from. For the purpose of the inspection, we went off the driveway. The back is probably 16'+ off the ground (to the peak). City's max is 15'. It looks a lot taller becasue the floor is about 1' higher than the previous.

My banker was telling me about how he used to go up there and *study* with the girls whose parents lived there before mom. Quite interesting since it was a parsonage...
The house / garage was built by a local doctor and then willed to his church. Eventually the church couldn't afford the upkeep and mom bought it. It sits on 4 lots in the center of town.
When the guys did the roof ('89) they said it was the steepest roof they ever worked on. And yes, they did it standing up. Same on the house. You don't even want to know what it costs to get something like that done...
