Hi Guys, after a lot of reading and planning I can't belive it's my turn to share my garage build. This is actually live and happening right now.

So far I have the concrete poored and tomorrow we begin the structure.

First I had to move my shed ( 13x18 ) about 20 feet so the garage could fit at the right spot. WIth the help of friend and some wood it was pretty easy.

Then it was time to prepare the surface ...

After I needed to bring in 7 truck loads of sand/Rocks to make it perfect ...

Since I'm goind a radiant floor I needed to isolate the floor before pooring ..

What's the apron to peak height? What's the highest ceiling height inside? Are you at 12' to use a lift?

I will measure tomorrow to make sure... but to give you an idea the walls are 10 feet high. And the peak at arround 17 feet.

I'm planning to put a lift and made arrangements electricaly and also where the radiant flooring was laid out.

Is that a drain in the middle?

Did you piss off your neighbors behind you with this addition?

Yes it's a drain in the middle. The house you see in the picture is actually the neighbour on the side of me .. I'm all legit as far as the law goes ... but no I did not piss off anyone !

Nice project... I'm getting ready to start a 28x36 with the same setup myself. Instead of the rafters though i'm doing a tray ceiling truss to get the 12 foot for a lift. Plus mine is a pole barn not stick built.

Think about a 4 post lift, then you can move it anywhere in the garage and park underneath if needed. Neighbors won't mind, especially when you start letting them come over to tinker on their toys.

Many thanks for sharing picture , and if you don't mind asking , why you not pressurise the pex when pouring ? , keep the picture coming please

To be honest I just did not have the time ... i was literally installing the last tie-raps and the ciment guy was waiting for me ...

We made sure to be carefull ... hopefully everything will be ok !

Very cool, it's like a jumbo version of mine.
I love my loft above the garage door...makes use of otherwise wasted space above a raised door.

Where does your drain run to? When i build my addition, I'd like to have a drain, but I have nowhere to really run one unless I just drain it into a huge gravel pit somewhere.

Also, you use strapping on the outside before hanging the siding. Is that common to do it that way in your area? I've never saw that done before with vinyl siding.

Yes strapping is the way we do it here ... dont know how people do it in the USA ....

I live were we have a sceptic tank so I connected it to it ... The other option was to put a gravel pit but code here dosent accept it no more for environmental reasons ....

If you can put a Gravel pit I would say go for it.

Nice looking building! You knocked it up fast too, looking forward to seeing your progress and how you fit it out.

Knocked it out or knocked it up? Different meanings here in US:lol:

When something gets "knocked up" then you can expect a baby in 9 months!

Cost is really dependant of how you do it ... I could have built this garage for 25-35k. But I added nice Windows, radiant floor ect ... I'm about 45k into it.
Guessing another 5K to finish it off completely.

I had an old 3 inch thick 8 foot long piece of Pine so I decided to use it as a big shelve.
I will later sand it and taint it ...

Another trick I would suggest is to cap off with aluminium where your garage door will be bolted on. It takes 15 more minutes but it looks sharp.
