I have a small lot so 32x26 was as large as I could build. My lot had a 5 foot drop from where the front to back of the garage so I had to have a wall built.

The blocks were filled with concrete and rebar. 5 loads of gravel were used to fill the slope.

Since I had footers and a wall it was decided the a stick build made more sense than pole. 2x6 studded walls were used and then wrapped with house wrap

then the metal siding and the concrete floor.

i used scissor trusses and a 6/12 pitch to get maximum inside ceiling height.

The garage doors were installed to follow the trusses.

. I have to say that my builder, DC Metals, was outstanding and the build quality is top notch. There were a crew of 4 men (Amish) on site start to finish

everything went great until I decided to epoxy the floor. I used Qwiikcrete Premium Clear Epoxy Coating. Iused their Bond Lok to prep the floor. I called their 1-800 for advise and was given the green light by customer service. I was leary of epoxy but dcided since this floor was brand new clean it had a better chance of not having hot tire peel issues. I used the Bond lok cleaner etche then applied the epoxy the following day per instructions on the box. The epoxy goes on white which is nice to confirm coverage.

i cmpleted the floor and let it sit 24 hours is the required wait for light foot traffic 72 for cars. So I go out the next afternoon to check out the floor,,

The floor has large milky white ares.I call Qwikcrete and the sat give it the full 72 hours. 3 days later and...The white is still there and when I feel it it feels dry so dry that it powders when rubbed with my finger.I called Valspar(Qwikcrete) tech asssitance and am told by B. Hammond that "he needed to check if it could be used on bare concrete even thogh it says so on the box"

After he agreed that it was ok for bare concrete he kept insisting that I said it was peeling and I would correct him that it was poewdering. I must say that I was very pissed off and that I told him "That I was extremely pissed at the whole deal and not at him"and he said he understood. Then he finally asked if I would like to file a complaint which I said yes butwhat would it do for me. He finally said that IF it was found to be a faulty product that they would refund the purchase price but the my labor would not be considered nor would the assist with the cost or materials to grind or chemically strip the floor. Mr Hammond was not very friendly and kept trying to turn words around. I asked top speak to someone else and was informed they were gone for the day. Mr Hammond then began to start telling me it was my fault and that it wa applied too soon, which it very may have been but when I called before coating I was told it would be fine. When I said that tech support there had said it would be fine Mr Hammond said "that I should not have listened to them". My response to him was "You gotta be F&%$ing kidding me ... He hung up! I guess Ithey may have a cursing policy but they also seem to have a cutomer is alway wrong polocy. I may have put the coating on early but I was told I coul?? Anyway here is some of my floor.

Well other than the new floor looking like **** the garage looks great.

Power is in and I have the lights purchased waiting to go up. I am going to install a 56in 3 blade fan on one side of the garage and will be picking up my lift in July.

The garage looks great. The floor I feel your pain. There are some very good folks on here in the flooring section that will be able to help you out.

How wide are those doors? And i assume its 32' where the doors are, and 26' deep, right? Just curious because i'm about to do a 32x26, with the doors on the 26' side, and I was expecting more building face... Are those 12' doors?

Really nice looking garage.

Don't let the floor get you down to much, just make sure you get your money back for the materials and you'll feel a whole lot better. At least you had excellent tradies to put the structure up hassle free with a great end result.

I'm guessing I am the only one who likes the patchy look?

It looks like something I would try to achieve. Some old style, well used, polished floor? I dig it.

You would not dig it if you spent all that money and time to have the coating go to ****. It's supposed to be a nice, sealed, single color. I would be raising hell with corporate about that. The rest of the building looks top notch - nice space.

Thanks for the kind word guys. At this point I am just glad to be close to the move in point. Gotta get my old Bronco back in shape. I have neglected it for over 10 years and my 15 yr old son has a 65 Mustang that needs assembled so I will focus on them and not the crappy floor.
