I have just applied for my building permit and thought I would start a thread to show my progression (when building starts).
It will be a 28x32' Pole barn with 10' walls. I would have preferred 12' walls but the area I am in required poles be set 6' in ground and the price between a 16' and an 18' pole is significant.

I will be building this myself with some help from friends and family. Hoping to start in May. My plan for 2017 is to get the barn built and pour concrete next summer. This is the reason for going pole rather than stick, I cannot afford the build and concrete all at once.

The garage will house my 1971 Mustang project as well as my other toys. I also plan to have a bar in there somewhere.

Here are some pictures of the layout:

My mustang project which I have not been able to work on, as I don't have a shop right now.

Before I start the tear down

The front clip was removed and replaced with one from another car.

I actually cut even more off as the A pillars were rusted also.

I will post more of the shop build when I get started!

The permit is in my hand after some modifications from the building inspector. I have to drill 24" dia holes 7' deep. Pour 12" of concrete and set the post on that.

He always wanted blocking between my girts every 4' which i thought was strange. I will be doing bookshelf girts on 24" centers.

Demo has started on the existing structures.
