Went to the Northeast Ohio Classic Chevy Club swap meet this morning...
lots of parts, license plates, memorabilia and some good tools (did not need a whole lot of tools)

I paid 5 bucks a piece from various vendors for the plates, the motorcycle plate was a dollar. Jegs sticker they gave away, paid a buck for the WMMS stickers too (great radio station here in Cleveland!)
The highlight of course was the Petersen vise grips for 8 bucks and the Channellock adjustable wrench (US!) for 5!

So I spent around 40 bucks all told (including admission)

Oh yeah, I saw a guy selling Snap-on posters with a girl holding a ratcheting screwdriver, I should have bought one for 10 bucks...my bad!

Funny you should ask, there is no date on the plate. The bottom says 'Garden State' and no stickers or anything...
PM me if you're interested in a trade!

LOL Jeff.

I spent this afternoon pouring thorugh one of the basement storage areas in my parents old house and came across a huge stack of thier old toss away OH licence plates dating back to the late 50's.

Gotta love OH for doing the new plate thing every year up to the 80's when the sticker thing started.

Boring as hell plates but nothing like a little vintage family stuff to hang on the walls.

Also found my minty fresh Hot Wheels 1970's metal lunch box WITH thermos in it today. Rust free and thermos included w/cap and the little red plastic handled mug that screwed on top.

Sadly, my mom was a hoarder befrore hoarding was cool.

Next week is the attics. More baseball cards and car posters I hope that I've squirreled away since the 60's

It's like a swap meet with no competition and great old memories.

BTW, love the sig. LOL.

Jeff,

I have been to both Canton and Canfield with "JC23" during the last two years. There is a tool vendor that sets up his red, large trailer with pop-up windows at both shows. He mostly sells new and NOS tools from the Danaher Tools (Armstrong, Gearwrench, KD, NAPA). He also sells the NAPA Professional (made by Witte) blue/yellow, individual cabinet and screwdriver sets. There is a tool vendor called Totally Tools of Buffalo, NY. I personally know him for a number of years since I visited his store while living in Buffalo for 14 months. He travels to both shows and sells used tools. The tools are made by Craftsman, Snap-on, Knipex, Wiss, and various old tool brands. There is one regular tool vendor that sells SK, Facom, and others. Lastly, there is a regular tool vendor that sells Channellock, Sunnex, Lisle, and low quality Asian brands. The admission fee is $5 and includes free parking for either show. Both are great tool flea markets .

I have been to the Rogers flea market for several years. It is the largest open air market in the tri-state area. The open air market is available only on Fridays from April to October. There are numerous individual and traveling tool vendors there especially on Fridays before Memorial, July 4th, and Labor Days. I also enjoy purchasing fresh produce during the summer months from the numerous vendors. There are no parking and admission fees. This flea market is also a must visit for the tool hound .

I have been to Hartfield a few times. It is not a great flea market for tools. Last spring, there was one vendor selling Mac and Snap-on tools for high prices. The only other notable vendor is one that travels to other shows such as Canfield and Rogers. This older gentlemen sells out of a former, Penske moving truck. He sells closeout tools from Armstrong, Olde Forge, Wiss, Craftsman, and others. I enjoy speaking to him when I see him at Rogers and Canfield. There are no admission and parking fees.

Lastly, I have been to Jamie's a couple of times. I do not like this flea market. I do not like the confining aisles that do not allow the customers to pass through without bumping into each other. The tool vendors there sell mostly Craftsman. Because of feeling uncomfortable with the narrow aisles and the questionable looking attendees, I have not been there for about 6 years. There was a shooting several years ago where the culprit shot someone for rudely sneaking into "his" open parking space.

dede, I went to the last Canton meet and plan to be at the next one! Got a lot of good stuff, and I did see the guy with the big trailer with bins of tools on both sides. Pretty cool, but I got most of my stuff from individual tables/going through boxes and buckets :)
