Hi All, long time lurker checking in,

I felt compelled to create a thread to both track my own progress, as well as share pictures, and updates with like minded folks and ask the occaisonal question. My wife and I just bought this house in May 2016, and completely gutted, and Reno'd the inside. It sits on 3 acres, about 40 minutes south of Minneapolis and we love it- it just needs to be brought into the 21st century. Now that we're settled in on the inside, it's time for me to focus on the garage. I used to be quite the gearhead, with regards to muscle cars, and custom trucks, but got out of the hobby, when we first got married, to worry about house and family plans. Now that we're settled in better, this will be the home of another project vehicle sometime in the near future, that my Son, wife and I can restore together.

It's a 24x40 (960sqft) 3 stall attached, with 9 ft ceilings. When I first moved in, there were 5 outlets, 3 light overhead flood lights and 2 garage door openers all on a 15a circuit. Since then I ran a Gas line from the basement furnace, to accommodate a gas heater, and added a commercial LED overhead.

I'm currently in process of adding 3 new circuits, 17 lights 3 ceiling fans, 3 new Chamberlain whisper drive door openers.

- Adding 5 lights to exsisting 15a circuit, along with garage door openers

- Adding One 15a to accommodate overhead 12 new LED lights
- Adding One 20a to accommodate 3 ceiling fans, Radio, Beer fridge, and 6 outlets near bench
- Adding One 20a to accommodate 5 more outlets, for Furnace, larger shop tools, table saw, shop vac, small compressor etc.

Total of 17 LED overheads from Menards 5 on main switch, and 12 more on a second switch. Followed by R-13 Wall insulation, Cabinets, sheetrock and then paint further down the line.

The cabinets I got were from a kitchen remodel - I'll be stripping them of grease, and varnish and re-painting a neutral color of some sort.

Here's a pic when I first looked at the house last April (I apologize for the lackluster pictures. As the updates get newer, the picture quality should be better.)

Two weeks ago, with new outlets roughed in. This is the wall, where the tool bench is in the previous picture, also where the main cabinets/workspace will be

And of course, I'll need to accommodate this little guy, and his workspace needs too;

Current status ; in process of stapling all romex, double and triple checking my NEC code compliance for rough inspection, and then it will be on to adding outlets, and getting ready for final electrical, so I can move onto the insulation, and sheet rock. More to come...

Thank you! A good friend of mine asked me to be a groomsman in his wedding this weekend, so I'll not have many updates this week, but hopefully I'll be getting back to work out there on Monday.

Small update, slow to get work done. I got the first band of LED's up, and man, what a difference 5 lights makes. I can't wait to get the other 12 up. Also, installed the first of 3 new Chamberlain Whisperdrive openers, for my wife's garage stall.

Please, don't mind the clutter, as this is all going to be nice, and organized, once my cabinets are up.

Next up, I'm building a locker for my wife, and son for hanging coats, and sweatshirts etc next to the entrance. Here's where it will be going - it will be freestanding, but I plan on anchoring to the wall, that way, I can pull it away, when it comes time to tape and mud the sheetrock behind it.

I'll be using 2x6's, and some 1x stuff laying around, finished up with a similar dark stain.

More to come.
