My 3 year olds toolbox

This is it. My son is turning 3 on Feb 28th and this is what I got for him. It is really well built and should be fun for him to keep all of his Thomas the train and Lightning Mc Queen toys in. I couldn't resist. It was $550, which is more than I want to spend on a birthday gift but you only turn 3 once. I took pictures beside the real thing for referance (I know it is a MAC but they are simmilar to the Snap On). I will post some shots with my son in the "Show us your toolbox" thread after his birthday.

Why buy him a box that he will outgrow in a few years?

When I was younger my parents did the same sort of thing. I wish they had not. I wish they would have spent their money on something that will last my lifetime.

This is what he got last year for Christmas. I was able to keep it in the family room last winter but I lost that battle this year. Gage (my son) loves playing with this, so I am sure he will be happy with the toolbox.

If that does happen in a few years, I will sell it and put the money towards a dirtbike or something.

Very cool. My son turns four in March and we were thinking about a Craftsman roller for his room - he has a lot of Craftsman, Home Depot and Black & Decker kiddie tools. He is always welding the furniture, or wrenching on his toys.

It is paying off. At three, he operates the winch that pulls the car onto the trailer and can take the impact gun and remove all of the lug nuts. He knows the tools and is real handy when I'm on the ground and something is out of reach.

Good for you. His imagination will go wild.

That is a sweet gift for a 3YO. I would recomend you start saving now . I figure any kid who gets his first car at 2 and his first Snappy cabinet at 3 is gonna want a Porsche when he hits 16 . I will admit though I got my soon to 1YO grandson alot of Craftsman kiddie tools for Christmas this year including a welder with gloves and Mask like Papaws and just tonight picked up his first ride on car . I may spoil him like you are your son .

What the heck is that???? Is that one of those 50% Snap-on demo boxes that was discussed earlier this week, or did someone make that custom.

I tried to get one of those small demo tents that they use for display in Dicks for my nieces barbie, but could not get one.

Maybe its just me but I buy tools to last. Tools are like weapons, an investment. Toys are not...

That thing is awesome man. I'm sure he'll love it. My boy is turning 3 real soon as well. It's so funny because all I hear about also is Thomas the Train and Lightning McQueen. I just think it's funny how two little boys that live thousands of miles away are probably very similar.

Very cool present for the little one, If the box is a working unit as it appears I would keep it. Evene if I bought my son a bigger one I would keep the small one just to be able to pass on someday. You can use it for specialty tools like electronic testing, small picks and files. I would just build a bench to set it on so that and adult could reach in easier.

Mighty cool present! That would be the coolest thing to put into his bedroom or even in the garage next to yours. Let him start on lawn mower engines, by the time he is 14 he'll be building blown hemi's!

Thanks for all of the kind replies. I didn't tell my wife about this at all until last night but she was surprisingly okay with it. It is nice to know that there are a lot of other like minded people on here.
