Hello Everybody! I've been on this page for quite some time, wanting to build my garage, but time and money have not been on my side until now...Thanks COVID!!!

This is going to be a 30x40x12 from CarportsnSheds with 3 bays. Got an awesome deal through them for Labor Day so I couldn't pass them up. As much as I would love to go stick built, it's just not in the budget, and I feel this will do just fine!

Quick background, I am a career Mechanical Engineer who works on general automotive and racecar fabrication as a hobby. With a wife and 2 young children, the garage on the house needs to be for coming and going, so we def. needed to find a new location for my tools and cars

Enough rambling, on with the pics:

9/25/2020 This is the general location of the building, and the area that needed to be cleared to make this all possible

10/10/2020 We got 25 tons of 21A to be tamped into place to level out the area, to later pass slab inspection prior to pouring concrete

10/17/2020 The boys showed back up to start pouring concrete at 7am. It rained the whole day before, so the trucks were afraid to come into the grass and get stuck, so they had to haul all 34yards by wheel barrow...made for a long day

A few days after the concrete was poured, one of them came back and sawed in the control joints

Now we wait until 11/2/2020 for the building to be delivered, and hopefully it will be finished assembling 2 or 3 days after...getting excited

Well, things happened on schedule. Guys showed up on the 2nd and were done by the 4th. Unfortunately the doors are held up since everyone ordered buildings during the pandemic, and most all of them use the same roll up doors...so I have to wait till the shop makes more

Can you cut the expansion joints later down the road? Like 2 years later? Or does it have to be within a few days of the pour?

That thing went up fast! I better get the scaffolding ready for you.....

i'll let you know when i need it as far in advance as i can. borrowing a friend and his enclosed trailer to get the insulation and scaffolding at the same time since you are just up the road from the insulation place

if it hasn't cracked in the last two years without expansion joints, it likely won't crack. Maybe someone else can chime in, but thats what i've been told, so its generally best to get them cut in shortly after the pour so that any possible cracks have a path to follow

No update?!?!

we've got doors!!! but haven't bothered to take any pictures yet, and I can't do much of anything before i etch and seal the floors, but i've had quite a few pressing matters pop up and really cold weather, so things are at a bit of a stand still right now
