... or what ever I call it that day. I've done alot of the work myself, except for the times that my Dad comes over to help, and the group of Jeep Club friends that helped set the trusses. Heck even my wife has pitched in to help. Now on to the pics...

Poles have been set, I later pulled up the free poles and replaced them with 6x6 poles, set 4' in ground

First half of trusses up after one day. My Dad and I did the headers the week before

View of west wall...My Dad decided to start the loft while I was working some back to back double shifts, of coarse it was place to low and I had to go back and redo it.

Since my concrete crew was busy and backed out of my pour, I took it upon myself to pour the floor myself (w/ help from my wife and Dad). I've worked w/ concrete for many years, and still help my Uncle when he has some big pours. I was only pouring the first to bays, as I still need to finalize some plans on the other two bays.

Began framing the toolshop area...

then added the studs to tighten up the pole barn.

Put up some OSB, that was given to me for free, along with my steel door...

Exterior OSB went up Monday. Started at 0730 and by 0800 I was soaking wet with sweat, sure was humid.

Wednesday I started hanging the siding, but only did the south wall, as I was beat after working a rough 48 hour shift.

maybe I'll get some more hung this afternoon....

For now, I'm only enclosing the toolshop area, but I may change my mind down the road. I'ts a palce for me to work on my jeep when I bust it up, and be out of the weather.

South Florida? Being open should not be a problem. I remember an automotive machine shop in St Pete that had all it's equipment, lathes, mills, etc, outside under a simple tin roof. In your part of the country being open to catch the summer breeze is a plus. But not at night when the skeeters are out.

Well everything turned out fine...can't say the same for my neighbors little shop... Since I didn't get power back until late the afternoon, I'll be hanging more siding up Friday and Saturday.

Glad to hear you (and your garage) weathered the storm OK.

I like the jeeps too... Many places to play with them where you live?

Regards,

Stan

I got 8 sheets up on the North wall today before the rain started (like we really need more). Got 5 more sheets to put up Monday, and then I'll move on to building a big door (either a slider or hinged), & electric.

Just updating w/ some pics. On the West wall, my wife helped put up 5 sheets of metal siding, then my dad came over another day tohelp with the other 5, and the corner trim pieces.

I eneded up doing the North wall myself...

Ended up building a sliding door, that I just hung on Monday with help from my dad. Got a few more hardware pieces to put on it to keep it secure.

I went out this afternoon and began marking locations for electrical outlets. I'll be picking up 32 to begin with tomorrow, and while I'm at the electric supply house, I'm gonna look into some 8' four bulb T8 lights (12 I think).
