My 36x28 Garage Build

Well I have been lurking for a long time on this form and finally started my garage build. My wife and I purchased over 4 acres of land a few minutes out of town last fall and started clearing the land ourselves with the help of friends. We hired a contractor last fall to put in a 450' driveway and waited until the spring to continue clearing land. At the end of last summer we rented an excavator and grubbed of where the garage was going and and started a pad.

Here are some pics to get it up to date.



That's where I'm at today, we just got 10cm of snow and more on the way. Once it stops snowing hopefully get a few nice days and put the metal roof on. The only jobs that were hired out was the driveway and forming, pouring, and finishing the slab.

I have never put a metal roof on and have a few questions about it. It seems from what I have seen before is that there is a few different types of trims for the gable end. I have what they call a f trim. I'm just wondering how to fasten the sheet to it and how to cut the peak of the trim to join the other side to it.

Nice!!!! How tall are your walls? Your garage is the same size as my main garage, and the same size as my addition. It looks like you have 12' walls and 10' doors? And did you change the height on one of the garage doors? They were both framed the same height, then in another pic the sheeting looks to be a couple of feet lower on the inner garage door than on the outer garage door

Very nice same size as my build only I used the 36' for my depth

The walls are 12' tall and the doors are both 10'x10' I just didn't cut the sheathing to size in one of the pics. I also have a 5.5/12 vaulted ceiling over the inner door.

Dang my walls are 11'4" with vaulted ceilings and a 5/12 pitch 2 10x10 doors

Garage doors are installed! Took two guys about 4 hours, I was impressed with their work. Now I have to trim the doors in and add the weatherstripping and look at starting the siding.

I just had (3) 10x10's installed cost me $1000.00 US what does it cost there ?

$900 for the two.

I priced the azek 1x8 to finish the jam on the garage doors, pricey stuff. $88 for an 18 foot piece.

It's been a long go building this garage, I'm not finished but here are a few pictures of where I'm at

I'm trying to figure out how the electrical box's mount for the outside receptacles. I'm using the square vinyl siding box's, just not sure if the gang box mounts flush to the sheathing or to the back of the vinyl siding box.
