My shop, built in July 2003. It sits on the concrete slab of what was my old house and shop, which was destroyed in a tornado in May 2003. It is of steel construction, with 4x5 angle iron beams and supports. There is a 12' x 24' patio/carport in the front. Brick wainscoting that matches my house, is along the front of the shop.

There are three large insulated doors - the fronts are 12x10 and 12x12, while the back is another 12x10. One has an electric opener. This allows me to drive through the left side of the shop with an RV or whatever.

Two insulated walk-in doors and two double-pane insulated windows are installed, plus the shop itseld is insulated. Heat (and maybe air!) are still down the road. I have four 220V outlets and sixteen 110V outlets, plus a 30A RV outlet. It also has a full bath with a 50 gal water heater. The roof of the bathroom is one-inch marine plywood on 16" joists, so parts can be stored on top. I have two 12' x 4-1/2' metal shelving units from an old lumber store, plus a 16' x 2' unit from an old union hall, that are used for heavy storage. No air plumbed yet, as I only have a two-horse Sears 110V compressor.

I can get eight full-sized American cars inside and still have room to work comfortably, as well as ample parts storage and other things.

More pics to come.

On my "things to do" list:

1) Two-post lift
2) 50-gallon air compressor (220V)
3) MORE lights! I have four two-light eight-foot florescents now, plus the bathroom lighting!
4) Loft storage along the East wall, eight-feet high, eight-feet deep, and the width of the shop (38').
5) More outlets. I've got the 220V I need, but could certainly use more 110V outlets - double what I have now, for certain.
6) Sandblaster
7) Parts Cleaner tank
8) Powder-coating oven
9) More air tools!
10) Landscaping. It looks awfully plain with just yard out front!

Oh, man. If I had a shop like that with my dad, I would never go home. I would put a bed, fridge, cable and internet in it and like live there.

Yes, and a NSW plate, too! I'd like to get one from each Australian State, eventually.

Trying to find a NZ plate, but they are very hard to find!
