I started by planning for a 30' x 40', but after talking and looking around it eventually grew to a 40' x 50'.

Here are some pics of the slab being poured.

You'll never regret going bigger... I started with 30x40... then it grew to 40x60, then added a 10' lean to... I wish I could have squeezed another 20' longer...

I went with 12' high walls, with a 6/12 pich on the roof to accomodate a future 2 post lift in the rear, while giving me a large bonus room on the front of the building.

Looks like a good space there! What made you put the lift in the rear VS the front, Long term projects or what?

Just in case I decide to do that. Also this way if I have a vehicle on the lift I can still open the all the doors. Debated back and forth for a while. Seems like pros and cons to both.

Wise move going bigger and the build is looking great!

Thanks. I was talking to a neighbor and he was saying how he really wished he had went 40' wide instead of 30' and that kind of decided it for me. I don't want to regret something like that later. You should have seen the look on my wife's face when I came home and said "Well honey the garage just got bigger".

It's been a while since I updated this, but here are a couple of pictures since the doors were installed. The pic of the side also shows how much I have left to do of the siding. We already finished the siding on the front and back. I still have to do the soffit on the sides and all of the fascia and wrap the door frames, but it's coming along. Progress has certainly slowed after the time change and the weather, but I was able to get both of my trailers out of the back yard and managed to clear enough space in my attached garage to park the wife's car. So it's already paying dividends.:pimpflash
