I have been working on this barn for over a year. I have built nearly the whole thing myself, in my spare time. I had help setting the rafters and lifting the tin and 2x4 up for the roof. It was all used wood and steel. I ran out of used steel last weekend, looks like a trip to Menards soon. Someday it will have a cement floor, heat, etc... but for now it works good for storage. I will have approx $12,000 into it with the new steel, garage door, excavating, purchase price and permit. Not too bad.

Thanks,
Its been a long ride. A couple times I thought I bit off more than I could chew. I also learned not to have expectations. Something that seems simple ends up taking a whole weekend. I`m getting there slowly. Thankfully my neighbors are cool and have not complained at all. I`m coming up with $3.00 per square? $12,000 divided by 4032 = $2.98. It gets higher every trip to the lumber yard :)

Sorry I asked now.
I thought a few shots of how you built it
would be of some benefit to other members.
eg .. What bracing methods are using?
What spacing are the posts, stringers etc..
Words don't show it.

I was not trying to be a jerk. My wife tells me almost daily its a special gift I have:) Here is a couple more pictures. I spaced the posts and rafters at 8', originally they were 9'. The roof boards are 2' OC standing up. The side boards are 2' OC. Bracing was scraps nailed at angles to hold it all up there. Most of the roof boards are new.

That's a Hell of a deal. I have 21k in my 1500 square foot shop. Are you going to seal the holes in the wall? My son bought a house with a barn made from used tin and has extra holes also. We are trying to decide what to seal them with.

I have sealed all the roof holes with NP1 Polyurethane Sealant. It VERY durable. They used this sealant at my dads work many years ago and it still looks new.
I plan to fill the wall holes in spring. Its too cold here now for the sealant to work right.
