The other day my wife was talking to one of my daughters and used the word "cute" when describing my recently constructed anvil stand. I have tried to explain to her that "guy stuff" i.e welding tables, tools, cars, trucks and motorcycles, should never be used in the same sentence with the words cute, darling or sweet. :p

You by man law are now obligated to post a picture of this "cute" stand.
If it is in fact deemed to be "cute" by the man community...there will be points assessed against your man card.

kidding but lets see it.

I prefer the term 'ruggedly handsome', but I will withhold judgement until seeing said 'cute' stand.

The thing that guys don't understand is that 'cute' means 'good' to women. The take home message is that 'cute' is ALWAYS used in a positive manner...that is, it IS a compliment. Take it for the compliment it is, then post pics, please!

I don't know about that... Most of the women I know use cute when they don't want to say something negative... Like, "Oh, what a cute baby." To the mother of a kid that looks like Quasimodo...

So, you've gotta post a pic... We won't lie and tell you it's cute if it's not...

"Cute" can definitely be used in a sarcastic way. Pics are required to determined if your man card is in jeopardy.

Are you sure they know WHAT it actually is?
They probably think you have installed a handbag hanger and cellphone holder in the garage for them.
"How sweet of him to do that, it's kind of cute"

A puppy is "cute", a hot rod is cool but, a cool hot rod is bitchin!

Now as for the cute stand! To continue on at the GJ with your Man Card. Photos are needed.

I recently picked up the extreme green mini tool box set, to hold nuts, bolts, and misc. in the garage.
The gf said it was cute. I thought she approved the purchase, and that was it.
To me, it means she cant say anything about the frivalis purchase.

If a woman uses the term "cute" and in fact it is "cute" as determined by other members, there WILL be man point deductions.

A woman using the term "cute" is not a compliment and said woman needs to be straightened out on that.

If she would call your Johnson "cute"...you had better believe she is poking fun, and not complimenting.

A man can most definitely use the word "cute" if poking fun at... say a guys anvil stand that might be painted pink, or if he see a great looking young, but over 18 year old girl, or in using the term to compliment his daughter as in "I think you're cute honey, and don't let anyone tell you different".

Aside from that, there shall be no cute items in a garage unless it is said wife or daughter in the garage, and maybe a puppy or kitten, but not much more, at least I think not much more. :headscrat

And the anvil stand does now need to be posted as it is now described as "cute".

It was used in a Derogatory way, because there is no way that Man Tool is "Cute". Man card is revoked until further notice.

Did you sandblast or photo shop the pink paint? ;)

Well, the track part is nice and manly. Looks like it was hacked off by Paul Bunyan or bit off by John Henry.

The legs though...they look to be steel, which is a manly material...but the shape and the way they seem to become more slender near the bottom, like a woman's leg...is just a little too precious...

Work is out that your Wife and Daughter just bought two gallons of pink paint.... Something was mentioned about painting everything in the shop to match.. Just think; no rust, and nobody showing up to borrow equipment! Man, you are truly blessed..

My WTM (woman to man) translator has concluded the following:

When women say "That anvil stand is cute"
translates to
"Dude that a bitchin stand you built"

"That anvil stand is darling"
translates to
"Thats awesome, how big of an anvil is going on that stand you made"

"That anvil stand is sweet"
translates to two different versions
1. "That anvil stand is kick ***"
2. "That anvil stand is sweet"

According to version 2, they get it right every now and then.

Oh that is a very cute and pretty stand.
A skirt on it would be nice.

Nice legs... Maybe if you put a kilt on it instead of a skirt?

I feel sorry for you for posting this in the first place. Whether it is "cute" or not doesn't matter any longer as you have now forever been given a Scarlett letter "C"! For what it's worth I don't see anything cute about it although it does look as though it will have issues when you start really hammering away on it but I could be wrong?
