My Auction Winnings

Went to an auction today that had a bunch of Snap-On stuff. I found the identical top-box that my dad had,one of two boxes that I was looking for. Itsa KR550,the rear corners are a lil beat up,but it`ll do fine for me. Now to find the KR560 for the bottom.

They had a decent KRL 660 there,went for about $750 I think,I was tempted.

The box I bought was empty,except for the top...which NOBODY knew opened up. There were 3-4 sets of SO swivel sockets,and several others in there.

I bought the screwdriver lot seperate. Hopefully I can sell off whatever I don`t want and should be able to pay for the box.

Paid about $300+buyers premium for all shown. Gotta few other things also that aren`t pictured.

How is it they were unable to open the lid, but you were?

I think the cranberry box went for $700, and figure if you bid it would have only went up from there.

One corner was bent in preventing it from being opened unless you did it just right.

Yeah,kinda figured that it would just go up. Kinda like Sun distributor machine I wanted,almost had it at $100 but some guy jumped in and ran it upto $700 so I let him have it. Later on he came upto me and offered it to me for what he bid because he thought it was something else,told him I was no longer interested....lol.

Got nothing at the auction, but it wasn't a completely tool-less day, this was on the front porch when I got home. That's it, I'm done, I have every tool I wanted, this was the last set. Actually there are a few things I need (want), 3/4" female to 1/2" male, a few missing Armstrong wrenches and I'd like a lathe and mill, and maybe a few Armstrong Maxx Ratchets.

Yeah, I happen to see it when you had the lid up, I saw the bits on the right side, those probably cost more than what you got the box for.

I was just going to get one at Harbor Freight

I'm still hoping to find my Armstrong one, I may be interested if I don't (but don't hold up a sale waiting for me). Starting Wednesday I'm bringing all my tools home (except for one complete set and box, I have the entire home garage for almost a week)) to sort, organize and get rid of what I no longer want. I hope to find a lot of missing tools. This should be the end of my HUGE clean out going on since October of last year.

The auction wasn't too far from you, I'll tell you about any upcoming ones I run across if I can remember. This was one of the ones where you do have to put down a $200 cash (not check or credit card, some let you use a check or cc) just to get in.


Not sure what the deal was with this auction there was talk about the owner being shot, don't know if he's dead or alive and I couldn't find anything on the internet about it.

I don't see any eye catchers coming up but with the economy the way it is I'm sure there will be plenty more.
