Hi All,

Here is a build thread for my Aussie Garage.

I currently leave on a block that is about 215278 sq ft and have a couple of smaller garages. I have purchased a new block of land that has been untouched since it was developed in 1981. We purchased this block a couple of years ago for $400k and plan to first build our Garage and then start the house.

The main reason for the move is our current block is very dense bush and cannot be cleared and the new block is a lot more open, and we can clear it if we wish.

We have a 1 year old son who loves being outside so the new house will suit him better.

I have designed the Garage to include a 50's Gas Station frontage with a 50's Diner on the inside. The Diner/Gas Station will hold two display cars that can be removed for more space during parties etc. The Main Garage has 4 work bays and then a workshop and Car Lift Area.

I have been trying to get this approved through he local Shire as it is about 50% than their standard approval size. The Shed is just shy of 3300sqft.

I have included several sketch up images below that give you an idea of the design. I have left out a lot of detail as I am not an draftsman I am a Car Salesman, please keep that in mind haha.

I have also included some Google Map Images of the block.

I am open to ANY suggestions.

Thanks and I look forward to starting the build.

I just want to add that Roger55's build was a HUGE inspiration as well as Don Long's build I was lucky enough to visit with Don last year on my trip to America and it was a high point of my 6 week trip which included SEMA and F1 in Austin!

What is that splash of blue to the East?

I like your plan. What are the pens for? Horses are my first thought but I don't see any cover for them to get out of rain or direct sunlight. I know you Aussies have a thing for sheep but I don't want to go there. :shocking:

Awesome Stuff, love the Diner/Gas station idea, with the Garage behind, That's just fantastic.

Looks like your in a nice part of Aus, my bit of blue is to the right. Great spot with a lake and ocean/beach near by.

Look forward to seeing this project progress. :)

Bib, that splash of blue is a big lake. And their is a river on the other side.

Yes the Pens are Horse Stables. They will have roof structures just haven't drawn them yet. The stables are phase two as the local shire haven't approved them yet.

No sheep here, I am from Australia not New Zealand haha

It's nice to see a build where I am semi familiar with the area. While I am in Qld I have a sister in law at South Yunderup so have been around there a few times.

I look forward to seeing more :rocker:

Today I purchased some windows from a Priests residence next to a Church that this week celebrated its 75th birthday.

This is the 75 year old Church.

This is what they should look like installed.

Obviously this is only a rough sketch. Look forward to picking these babies up in a week or so.

Another small Update.

I have done the Plumbing and then the Mesh and Plastics went down with the slab being poured tomorrow morning. Getting there slowly. Be another month or so before the bricklayers are back to do the walls :(
