The last place I worked, when they were going to build a new building they threw all kinds of this stuff in the metal dumpster. Employees were not allowed to take anything as that would be personal gain and that is not allowed. The boss actually had one of his yes men follow the truck to the scrap yard. And yet another reason I don't work there anymore.
We took care of the bosses yes man when we moved to our new facility. He no longer works for us... We exposed. Him for the "Eddie Haskell" he really was and the boss fired him!
