Recovering from a recent broken back so I've had time to organize my garage. After over a decade of faithful service my tool box needed to be replaced; I out grew it and it got taken out by some falling wheels. So I got a new one. I also organized all my tools and noticed I had a lot of extras. I think I am just going to keep them in a bin somewhere as replacements or when I need to make a 'custom' tool for a one-of job.

As for the 'peg board' it cost all of $12. Lumber yard was selling damage 2x12s in 4' lenghts for $2. 6 of them later, some screws, and I have a super versatile and strong peg board. It's just screws into the studs, it replaces the drywall/osb. Want a hook? Just drive a nail in. Want a fancy hook? Just go buy one and screw it in. Shelf? Ditto. Want a fancy plastic magnetic screw driver holder? Amazon it and then just slap it on the wall.

Anyways, hopefully it gives someone some ideas on what can be done. I really hate peg board.

I have open stud bays in my shop (no garage; it's an 11 by 11 foot space), and I do the same thing to the back side of the wood siding, so the only cost was the nails. I use the sides of the studs, too.
