I thought we had a thread going on shop fans....a search for "fan" turned up NOTHING......search function must be hosed....

Anywho....my in-laws were getting rid of a floor standing fan....great shape....they just didn't want it....so I took off the stand, turned it upside down and hung it from my beam....

It oscilates which means it covers about 90% of the garage.

Great re use of the fan, but I would be curios if it would leak fluid.. just keep an eye on it is all I would do. I like it! I have a Dayton fan from an old oil pit from a shop, but it doesn't oscillate.....but it is wall mounted and moves some air.

not to steal you thread but here is what I did was take a whole house fan make a simple frame, some hardware cloth to keep the fingers out, an on/off switch, rollers and a handle to move it around. It move mass quantities of air with out the blowing everything around....

Three letter words are not indexed for searching in most BB system software. You can however use Google to search the site.

Just watch the gear lube.

I have a similar rig for my "Bubba" fan outside. I only have two rollers otherwise it will sail off into the sunset.
