OMG what's wrong with how that title? Can't be any worse then pink tools. LOL
Anyway I have found myself with this OCD type obsession with Craftsman tools lately, more so with the professional series then regular Craftsman. I am itching to wrap my hands around a set of the pro screw drivers. I've already purchased the wrench modules and must I really like the feel of the polished over my classic RPs and the added length is a plus for extra leverage. Also picked up a set of pro adjustable wrenches and again they feel nice in the hand and the textured grip is nice also like the ASE and metric size indicators, I am still searching for the 12in. I haven't gotten a chance to check out any of the pliers but don't really see anything they might have over Craftsman standard pliers.
Anyway with all the hype about Sears financial trouble and there outsourcing of Craftsman tools I am just not sure where my Cman addiction is steaming from. Maybe that they are the tools I grew up on. I'm sure with places like the GJ, EBay, yard&garage sales, and flea markets, and auctions there are enough Craftsman USA tools out there to feed this addiction.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I can't say that I'm really buying any new Craftsman tools these days, but I've been a Craftsman fan for years, having purchased most of my "new" Craftsman tools back in the 1980s and early 1990s. I still like buying Craftsman tools frequently, but now only buy used stuff with the =V= manufacturer's mark on them. I like to use the =V= tools when I'm tinkering with vintage 1960s cars and old woodworking machinery.

I am also a fan of the=v= series really durable. I don't think there is a tool in my box that has taken as much abuse as my dads v series RP wrenches they have been thrown against many walls LOL.

I agree that older Craftsman tools are reliable and durable. I definitely use my tools, including those marked with the =V=, however, I can't say that I've ever thrown any against a wall. Good to know that they'll hold up in case I ever decide to do that. Hopefully that time will never come!!

All of that old stuff was great, the ratchets held up for a long time, my dad had some old ones that got traded in now, if I could go back I would have bought him the ****** modern raised panels and tried to find kits for the ones he had, but you live and learn...

That could be a topic. Tell your memories of when you put a curtain Craftsman tool through the ringer and the tool proformed like a champ.

Here is a memory I have. Race weekend on the way to Dallas Drag way in Dallas Georgia. Little hopped up firecracker 1977 Chevy Vega wagon on the trailer and we had a fly on the trailer. I grabbed the Jack and the single L lug wrench out of the truck but the lug wrench didn't fit the lugs.Out came the Craftsman RP wrenches, Craftsman sockets and breaker bar. The lug nuts were pretty rusty and me or my old man couldn't break em loose but adding the 1 1/16 RP to the breaker bar for some levrageand a one foot on the tire with everything we had in us we got the tire changed and made it untimely for the races.

I own mostly Craftsman tools, but dont plan on buying many more from them given the current trend of Craftsman tools "Taking the Boat ride"

I prefer Craftsman myself, but I'm not brand loyal. I do have some other brands tossed in here and there, but the majority of my collection is older Craftsman tools.

Are you F-ing kidding me? Just today I thinking to myself that I may need some kind of Rehab. I've got visions of Craftsman tools dancing in my head. I think part of it is the fact that most of us grew up on Craftsman and the other part is the fact they may be going away. Personnaly, I enjoy using Craftsman because it reminds me of Dad, who passed away 14 years ago and the fact Sears may be "going away" kinda ties the two together. Lately I've had a major urge to buy all the CRaftsman thats still made in America before it disappears, no matter what the cost. Anyway's, enough of the psycho babble, I think most of us are going to miss Craftsman and were getting what we can, while we can.

Sorry to hear that. Well, if you're selling any old =V= tools, drop me a PM with a few pictures and maybe we can work out a deal.

I was trying this morning to think of another time when I put a Craftsman tool to the test and the toll came out on top. I remember me and pops working on this old 72 Chevy p/u I had. I was taking changing the spark plugs out, broke the plug loose reached up to lay the ratchet on the finder not looking I played it ontop of the battery and right across the post. Battery blew up in my face dad grabbed me and rushed me over to the water hose luckily no Burns and no acid in my eyes or anything but my ears rang for a week. After all the excitement we found the RP ratchet and socket and besides the burn marks in the finish that ratchet still performed flawlessly.
