Hey garage journal,
I've been creeping all of your posts for a while now and have finally gotten around to joining and making one of my own. I'm a poor college student so all my tools are second hand or harbor freight. I do small engine repair and spend a lot of time keeping my truck running so that is how I got into tools.

The tool boxes on the left are mine and I got them for cheap at garage sales. The upper box cam loaded with good American brands such as Powr-Kraft, Herbrand, JP Daniels, Crescent, Craftsman (my brand of choice well until they go Chinese), Snap on, Kal, Williams,proto, and Dayton. It was a pretty good score. I don't know the age on any of the tools (except the JP Daniels pipe wrench) but I guess it doesn't really matter because my tool box isn't a museum. All the tools inside it get used. I am a fan of these older tools though. They feel good in the hand

Welcome and good going! I started with a chest and when it got filled I put an intermediate under it. I applaud your approach, starting with roller cabinets. I think we can induct you into the Tool Addicts Anonymous automatically.

Hey it is a start and not too bad either. As you grow older and begin to have real cash that you can drop on tools do not toss out those old boxes. I sure wish I still had mine from back in the college days 35 years ago. I would love to have them now and restore them to better than new condition.

Nice stuff there. I like the old boxes, too. Made a conscious decision a while ago to buy only "vintage" boxes for myself from here on out. I'll always have something interesting and different.

Oh yes it is. The two functions are not mutually exclusive!

Hah thanks for the responses and advice everyone. I am definitely a tool addict! The Proto box is in awesome shape for what I paid and all the drawers slide smooth. It is probably my favorite piece so far. The craftsman cabinet is cool too and for $10 I couldn't pass it up! I've made a goal for an addition every week. I'll keep posting as my collection grows. I do like learning about these tools to so any trivia is welcomed. I heard Montgomery Wards has a new website I wonder if they ever plan on bringing back the Powr-Kraft line.
