I've been lucky enough to have a shop for 7 years now. Started in 4000 sqft and am now adjusting to 2000 sqft. For most of those 7 years I googled sites like this one and there was nothing there. This website is a wonderful idea and I hope to become more involved in the future.
My shop is strictly a hobby shop, I vowed at the start to not let anything come through the door that might cause me the least bit of stress. I have managed to keep that promise to this day. I did not build the building but everything in it is mine. I am currently at the tail end of a move from the larger shop to the smaller shop which I think will be more managable and therefore enjoyable.
I'm into boats, boat engines (gas/diesel) and car care/resto and maitenance.
I'm also into just hanging out and tinkering with almost anything in the shop. Also into outfitting the shop itself and trying to make it as user friendly as I can.
I'm posting some pics, kind of embarrasing due to so much junk from the move still stacked around and the fact that I am not finished organizing everything. But I am so psyched about this site I wanted to go ahead and post and get involved!
Take a close look at the pics, Some of the details, benches, storage. etc. are born of years of messing about and figuring out better ways.
I am currently pushing to finish the shop interior itself so will post more pics on an ongoing basis. Its kinda hot and most things get done by me alone so it moves slowely
Let me know what you think, positive or negative, I'm really interested in the amount of information be passed around on this site.
