I have a problem when it comes to tool storage. Everytime I'm on Craigslist and there is a rolling tool cabinet for around 50 dollars I buy it. But two years ago I spent a little bit more. I'm just now making room in my garage and was able to get it out of storage.

The guy I bought it from owns a mobile semi repair truck. He kept it in the back of the box truck and used the top as a workbench for 5 years. So it was never out in the rain. He bought a new snap on box and had no reason to keep this. The only thing wrong with it was the locking system on the back of the drawers was bent and can not hold the drawers locked. And two of the drawer slides bearings were bad to the point where the two bottoms of the drawers would not budge.

He was asking 150 for the set
After talking to him for about an hour he said he had alot of respect for me and how much I reminded him of himself at my age. He said 85 and it's yours buddy. Needless to say I feel like it was a great deal.

Looks nice. What brand and what are your plans for it?

I would bet a nut that it is a older craftman or waterloo box probably 20 years old. How do I know this? I have one just like it besides the long upper drawer, I got mine for a $100 with a older Sears craftsman logo 26" top chest and a snap on folding tray. Guy that owned it was a diesel mech that upgraded and it was in his basement for 5 years. It is a fine box for what it is, slides are not as good as the older top box but it holds tools and it was damn cheap.

Also for the op, take out some of the drawers and check the bottom of the inside of both, usually you can find some goodies under there.

Wow that looks A LOT like one of my mechanic's boxes, down to the busted lock mechanism and where the metal straps would have been to hold the 1/2" rod that he slips down and padlocks in.

It is missing the custom locking laptop box he made on the extension so this seems to be a doppelganger!

About a week ago I was on sears.com and they were having a tool box sale. I bought the top box that matches and picked it up yesterday.

Today I got the bottom 2 drawers opened. That was a pain the locking mechanism was engaged. But it was all worth it. In one drawer there was nothing in it. The other drawer there was this.

Unfortunately only 8 of them are sk. But it was a nice find. After pulling the drawers out for a good degreasing. I was vacuuming out all the paper dust and trash out of the bottom. Took the bottom drawer out of the side cabinet and found this.

Your tool cabinet purchase certainly got BETTER with the SK tool pouch !!

Looks like the fill-in wrenches are Raised-Panel Craftsman. Still a great find for old school SK combination wrenches. If the C-Mans are Made in USA then still a nice set.

What did you actually pay ?? Was it for the larger red toolbox ??

I paid 85 for the box and side cabinet.

Was that 1$ bill in there too? The reason I ask is that from the picture it looks different. It looks like a silver certificate.
