My Craigslist Columbian 504-M2 Refurb

So after missing out on a NOS Wilton bullet...a CL find...found 5 min late!! I find this one. A Columbian 504 M2...for $125

Condition is outstanding, jaws are perfect. A few blemishes and surface rust.

A quick teardown and a stop in the sandblast cabinet

So after blasting it I decided that some of the castings were rough and needed smoothed out.
Next, some primer before rust creeps in.

Now I'm searching for some interesting Hammer finish rattle can...Didn't care for the typical Lowes offerings SO I'll look to the interweb for something. I thinking a light green or Wilton blue......so I won't forget the one I missed out on......grumble, grumble, grumble.

Help me figure out my final colors for this vise... I have a hammer finish forest green and a hammer finish light blue (a sky blue). Which one would you choose? As for the raised lettering. For green I'd expect letters in red or gold.....if blue I'd consider white or silver for color. Thoughts???

Green and silver will work...
However it's a Dark Forest Green so the black will have to wait for another day.

I turned chicken at the last minute and went with the Light blue Hammer w/white letters. I'm not done with the letters yet.

Next on the bench is this old 5 inch Craftsman...I love the lines

I kicked off the Craftsman 5in project today with sandblasting. Will dress it up tomorrow with grinders, sanders, and wire brushes...oh my!
