Here’s a couple pictures of my custom drivers as well as a couple stockers. I made permanent Phillips #1, #2, and #3 drivers. I used interchangeable shanks and just reinstalled the Star washer to hold the shank in place. Also pictured is a ratcheting speeder. Granted the speeder is of limited use or value but I think it’s way cool. Also pictured is a standard 8” and 12” bit driver and a 1/4” square drive. Next up I will probably be making a couple of flat bladed screw drivers and adding in some orange hard handle ratcheting T-handles. Have to figure out what’s most important first. Each custom driver costs me about a hundred bucks so I’m not breaking any speed records putting these together. Still looking for one of the stupid long 24” drivers but everything I find is junk or way too much money.

I dig it! I'm really not a fan of multi bit drivers, and would love a dedicated ratcheting set like that!

The bad thing is it is addictive. Just start out with a #2 because it's the most commonly used and next thing you know you are wishing you worked as a machinist again so you could make a set of nut drivers. :headscrat

Nice. But I can't see myself spend that much money on ratcheting screwdrivers. I can easily buy a drill and impact driver set and a set of decent screwdrivers with the amount of money spent on the ratcheting screwdrivers.

Of course a cordless driver would be better. Problem is I have plenty of them. I didn't make these because they were the best solution to a problem, I made them because I wanted something cool and unique. I probably have about 750 bucks into them and I'm not done so it definitely wasn't done to be the best use of money. The first S-O tool I ever got was a red hard handle ratcheting driver that a buddy didn't like and gave to me about 25 years ago. I have loved the ratcheting screwdrivers ever since. Now they are man jewelry, I will only use them for specific tasks where they don't get screwed up and greasy.

Very nice adaptations!

And yes, mods can be addictive. Once you find a handle profile you like you want to have all your driving tools the same.

Okay, I have to confess. My Dad was an aircraft mechanic and always had a black Driver in his box. This was in the early 50's. I never picked up the rat driver I guess because I thought it was gimicky or possibly it was too big at the time for my hands. Years later after Dad died, I inherited his toolbox. I started to try the Rat screwdriver. WOW, where have you been all my life! I love using these things and can't believe I dissed them for all those years.

I guess we can change. haha.

Really like your custom work. Very Nice.

Thanks, I have added some flat bladed ones recently. I will have to get some pictures of the whole set.
