I haven't posted here in a couple years, but this weekend I scored a Delta drill press, and it made me think of Garage Journal forums and the thread about yard sale scores. I couldn't find the thread, so I started my own.

My Harbor Freight drill press has done great over the years, but lately the chuck has started slipping. So when I saw this one yesterday I asked how much. The woman who was selling didn't know, so I told her I could buy a
Chinese one new for for $50, so she gave it to me for $40. I plugged it in and it works fine. It came with a wire wheel, so I cleaned up a rusty pry bar just for fun.

What really sold me on it were the golf ball handles, and the little guy on top. I don't know who he is, but he's a little low-rider with a big smile on his face. He's going to make me smile every time I drill a hole!

So, how did I do?

I'm not sure, but I think that lil guy is from a 50 cent vending found at grocery stores. I remember seeing them in high school. They were called "homiez"
