My dad's tools

My dad died in October last year. He was a diesel mechanic for 40 years. I have a 7 foot long toolbox to go through over the next week and I have no clue what anything is, really. Save for the basics like wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, hammers.
Long story short, would it be all right if i spend a few weeks on your forum asking questions, showing pictures, and possibly getting an idea on value of the tools? After my brother and I make basic tool kits for ourselves we will be trying to sell the others.
Like I said, I have no clue what most of it is for, or what it even does, so some of my questions will probably be stupid. But I will take pictures of the tools, and if what I take aren't enough I can take more.
Thanks.

Thanks.
My brother and I are going through the stuff Saturday. At least to kind of get a hint of how much is there. I'll take some pictures of things then. I kind of glanced through it and a lot of it seemed to be duplicates. I think he would buy better quality for himself and buy Chinese for when people asked to borrow something at work, that way they would steal any of the more expensive stuff.

Very sorry about your dad.

Sure, post up some pics. You can also search the classifieds here once you know what the tools are. And, you can search "completed listings" on FleaBay. If you want to move the stuff, price it fair. I'm no tool expert, but a lot of things sell for 50% of retail, give or take.

To save money, you can use USPS First Class for almost flat packages and Parcel Post for boxes.

Always tuff losing your dad, sorry for your loss.

After you and your brother have want you want.....Did your dad have any bud's he worked with?Might want to contact them....see if they'd be interested?

And as posted above 50% seems to be a starting place. You can go up/down a little from there.
