From one in 'The Toolbox Book' (Taunton Press), I built this one many years ago and still use it. Solid pine, half-blind dovetails, brass hardware. Weight: hernia-inducing! :S

When I see a carpenter show up with something like that I know I can go about my business while he does his thing. Looks great.

Thanks guys!

Usually, I don't even bother lugging it into the house with me for small jobs, but I did originally think of it as kind of a 'functional portfolio'.

Thanks, guys.

pendragon1998---you're exactly right! Found it at a second-hand shop or garage sale, don't remember, but a quick lube (with wax on the teeth and oil in the ports) and it is a very smooth little hand-drill. It's nice to have a non-battery back-up drill, but fun to use 'just because' sometimes too.

This was the first (and only!) real project I used my dovetail jig on. To anyone considering building something similar, I'd just say this: this is a HEAVY box even when empty! Yeah, it holds a lot and is fine in the shop or if you have a longer-term project where you can just leave it, but you don't want to be lugging this thing around a lot, especially when it's loaded up! :S
