Very Nice Job! I really like the idea of using metal building/pole buildings as the main structure of a house. That roll over looked scary, glad it was only a broken ankle

I love the in floor heat. I will never live in a house with out it again. The foam has worked out great. I sprayed one inch of closed cell first to help seal evening then I sprayed open cell over that. I wish I had enough money to spray the big shop

I'd like to know how the geothermal system works out. We have it in our home with in ground loops. Its been nothing short of a nightmare. Heat pumps leaking, no hot water, $$$.

I have had good luck so far. I did all mine myself so there was alot of learning that had to be done. No leaks or anything. I have an on demand water heater that is Supost to get hot water of of the heat pump. Not sure if that is working exactly right or if on demand heater isn't big enough because if we try and take more than one shower at time hot water goes away.

I did some work on the shop bathroom. I ran the copper lines for the toilet, the sink, and for the future urinal.

Dang man....I LOVE IT!!!!!!

I mentioned it to the wife one time about moving and building a big pole barn with the house inside. She wanted nothing to do with it. Wait until I show her these pics!!!! I've mentioned it to her because I'd like to move to a little warmer climate, but she doesn't want anything to do with that either. Wait until I show her these pics!!!!

The problem is with moving is that her brother, sister, and nieces and nephew, all live within 20 minutes or less from here. I have two sisters that are considerably older and we're not too close. I tried explaining to her that we could always vacation back up this way. So I'm going to give it another shot with pics, so keep 'em coming!!!!

Does the loop just sit at the bottom of the pond or will the pond be filled back in with dirt? Would love some more details about the geothermal and it(your) operation if you don't mind.

Thanks guys. The loops are strapped to old hog panels weighted down with concrete blocks. They just sit on the bottom of the pond. I didn't put any dirt over them but I would guess that by now a lot of dirt has silted in on them.

To go over the geo again in the mechanical room two two inch black plastic pipes run down to the pond

At the pond they manifold down to the 3/4. In the pond there is 3500 ft of 3/4 inch black pipe coiled out over a spot about 30 x 30.

So is the geothermal in the pond only going to be used for cooling? Or maybe I should just go wikipedia geothermal. I would think that in the winter the water would be too cold to heat anything and in the summer all it can do is cool, but I would think better than if it were in the ground.

Anyway, the entire build looks like a dream and good work. I am very jealous.

In the mechanical room there is a pump that pumps the fluid down to the pond and back.

that's the pipes coming in the bottom . The pipes coming out the top go to the geo unit it's self

. That makes one big loop. Now out the other side of the geo unit is two more pipes that go to a 80 gallon holding tank

in this tank the water is kept at whatever temp you have set at and the geo unit keeps it at that temp. There is also two pipes off the geo unit that go to a domestic hot water tank that is a bi product of the geo running.this is all my geo unit dose.the In floor heat has its own controls and pumps that run off thermostats to keep the heat on.

. In my house I have four different zones, the house, wife's garage, man cave, and the shop. This way I can keep them all at different temps.

No this unit pulls the heat from the water and compounds it so that it heats up the tank. The water comes in at around 55 and goes back to the pond in the 20's

For my air I have an air to water unit in the attic that pushes air across a radiator which the cold water from the holding tank is circulated thorough. The geo unit in the summer keeps the holding tank cold.

Still waiting for frost to go out of the ground but yesterday I got enough reclaimed wood to frame the shop walls and floor for storage over the man cave. I got 50)2x12 x16, 30)2x8x16 , 60) 2x6x8, and 15) 2x4x16 all for $915. No to bad I thought did tke six hours to get all the nails out and stack it.

Thanks grn I have two reasons one is cost I have almost 8000 in concrete, rerod, foam, and pex. That's doing everything myself second this is all I am heating so I thought that this was good enough for now

Where did you rent a foam trailer from, and how much??

It was on Craig's list . I called him looked at his reference and hired him. Its was 800 for rent and I got the foam from him. I don't remember how much the total was. He had an office in his trailer and would come out about once an hour and make sure everything was alright. It was alot of work though.
