Probably 6 years ago I discovered this forum and it drove me to build out my town homes two car garage into a functional workshop. I constantly tinker with everything but mainly rebuild 90's Seadoo to their former glory.
Two years ago we moved from that beautiful garage to a home with a 3 car.
Life got busy and we started a family leaving very little time for projects let alone a garage build out.
One day in October I got bored and logged onto this forum and the obsession hit full force, something like muscle memory. I knew I had to head down and get the garage I wanted so I could have a outlet of relaxation again.
I started out by removing everything and doing a commercial grade epoxy floor with full flake. This was the motivation I needed. The perfect shiny floor drove me to finish the rest. All walls were done to a level 5 pretty much before and during paint. No imperfection was left even the finest of pin holes were filled. After that I hung eight four bulb high bay T5 fixtures and with 5k 4100 lumen LED bulbs. With all fixtures on the garage is 130,000 lumens.
Cabinets were next on the list. A friend of mine recently took up woodworking as a hobby and wanted to have a go at cabinets. I drew up what I wanted and he brought them to life. once they were finished I painted everything matte black with scuff defense paint. They came out like glass!
Counters were installed with a hide-a-way sink so I could have as much counter as possible, burned then sealed.
After the cabinets were installed I added outlets along the bench top and brought in 220 for the air compressor, welder, and my new 2 post life.
All in all this garage is now a dream come true for me and I could be more happy. Thank you everyone for the posts that inspired me to get my **** in gear and build the "shop" I now get to work in.
If you would like to see some of the garage go together please check out my video I did on it.
