Im finally breaking ground on my shop. It will be a 100x50x16, spray foam insulation, in floor heat, and a porch off of one side. I hope it turns out as nice as it seems on paper. The well has been put in and foundation should be in soon.

I grew up in Kansas City and traveled all over Mo but I had to look up Clever on the map. Will be following your build, looks like you are off to a good start.

Got the plumbing, floor drains, vapor barrier and insulation down. Ready to start laying the 5500 feet of tubing.

that sure is a big shop. With 16' ceiling height i'm assuming you're going to be installing a lift, or more than one? What type of things do you work on? If your feeling bored or are just in the sharing mood, post up some pics of the things you work on, or things your planning on storing in this monstrosity of a shop!

Any plans for a mezanine?

I will be putting in one lift. The main reason for 16' ceilings is so I can store my toy hauler inside. I am building a 1960 Chevy Brookwood and a 1977 Ford Bronco. The smaller room will be for metal fabrication. What do you mean by mezzanine?

Sounds like you'll be having some fun in there! Original bronco or are you building a wheeler?

By mezzanine I mean a second floor, for storage, hangin out, or whatever. Free floating, i don't know how to explain it....

1: a low-ceilinged story between two main stories of a building; especially: an intermediate story that projects in the form of a balcony

2
a: the lowest balcony in a theater
b: the first few rows of such a balcony

I built one, and I think referenced a few others that are on the board here...
The fruits of my labor

There will be storage above the bathroom and mechanical room. The bronco will be for the street. Both are frame off projects. Tubing is all done and concrete should be poured in a week or so.

Concrete work is finally done. Had trouble finding someone to do it. It was too big for residential guys and too small for commercial but finally somebody was hungry enough. Frame work should be starting after labor day.

I am installing one lift on the near side bay of the finished concrete picture. Reason for the height is a lift and to store my toy hauler inside, which is 13' tall. I have a couple of restoration projects that I am doing, 1960 Brookwood and a 1977 Bronco. My plan is that this is the only shop that I build so might as well go all out the first time and not have any regrets.

Progress is starting to flow. Stairs built to get the storage above the bathroom in the fabrication room and the concrete is poured for the porch. Trusses are supposed to be delivered on the 17th. Install and finish the porch cover and should be time for the tin.

That place looks huge and awesome. Keep taking the pictures even when you think you took enough, take a couple of more.

What are they using for the porch rafters ? 2x6 or 2x8s ?

Been a while since I posted updates on the shop. Wiring, plumbing, a/c, insulation, septic all done. Electric and water are finally hooked up to the building. Down to interior tin, garage doors, and lights pretty much.

The slab and and building shell cost around 40k put up. Concrete is 5" thick with high psi concrete and fibers.
