Hey guys and gals!!! I've been creeping on here for a while now and finally getting a chance to put pictures of my Race shop up. Little story to get you up to speed real quick. Started racing out of a run down 2 car garage which i kept at my grandma's. (thanks for putting up with the late night noise and parties!!!) So about a year ago me and my wife bought a house with my shop. She loved the house and I loved the shop. Fair enough trade i'd say. Anyway, been trying to organize the way i see some of yours on here and makes me drool but at 27 to have this shop i'd say i have a long time to do exactly what i want!!! So here's some pictures for you to see. Feel free to give me tips on what to do or if you don't like something let me hear it!! Thanks again, Chuck!!!

Looks like a good start --- is that second pic a separated office/workout area or is the space all combined?

Chuck, looks like you are off to a good start. It is good to know what you want early in life and go after it with all your might. I work with a few guys that even in their late 30's/early 40's still don't know what it is they want out of life.

I was fortunate that I knew exactly what I wanted out of life before even graduating high school. It was a lot of work but I was in unique situation of buying a home and building a shop by the time I was 22 years old and all of my friends were still out partying and ******* time away.

Good luck and enjoy the shop and home.

Mike.

That back wall I see in pic 4 will be prime real estate for overhead cabinets down the line. And a bigger bench with storage will fit under it real nice.

You racing that mod on dirt or pavement?

Nice space you have there.

Looks nice! You're lucky. At 27, I was doing all of my work in alleys and parking lots.
When I was cruising the streets of Fort Worth back in the 70s, the only other guy with a floor jack worked the machines at the Wedgewood bowling alley. I've seen motor changes and all kinds of rework out back of the bowling alley.

Thanks guys!!! Yes overhead cabinets are in the works. I just had some leftover wood scraps I built the two that are hanging up. Many ideas just they change in my head whenever I start to design something lol. As far as the beam it was already installed. It has a pulley hoist attached to it i use to take the motor out or something heavy i don't wanna round up friends for!!! The modified i race on dirt. Mainly at Fairbury Speedway in Fairbury Illinois and a few surrounding tracks. Thanks for all the kind words. Hopefully i will post more pictures as the car and shop both come along!!!

what kind of car is that? judging by the offset cage and flat tail area, I would guess a super late model, but the stock front clip and non-coilover front suspension almost looks a limited late?

It's a UMP Dirt Modified. Dirtworks is the chassis. It's slowly coming together but planning to have it done by January!!

Very nice space, it's almost as fun working on the garage as the cars and toys inside sometimes.
