I have had this for years, never actually used it. got it at a yard sale 20 years ago. Inside it has a magazine article showing how to use a frozen orange juice tube to help set up.

That's a very handy tool. Apparently Edelbrock bought the original Uni-Syn company many years ago; probably sometime around the 80's. I have the same tool, but without the Edelbrock branding on the box. In their time, they were used on many Brit cars for synchronizing the SU and Zenith side draft carbs. Many hot rodders who run the 3x2 setup like them as well.

Mostly observed them being used on Weber carbs, side draft and down draft types

I've used one on early Datsun Z cars. I can use a piece of heater hose, just listening to the sound, and get damn close to ideal too.

I was going through a cabinet in the garage and discovered one of mine I’ve had seemingly forever but probably really since the late ‘60s. I’ve worked on a lot of cars with multiple carbs. FAF1C944-3181-4C4D-84F2-20FEFF727665.jpeg

^ I had one a long time ago for my Opel, which had dual downdraft Solex one-barrels on it. I was in the back of the Yelm store fiddling with it one day and an old guy came back and said "What the hell do you need that thing for? You can do that with a glass of water."
I asked him to explain to me what he was talking about, and he did.
I found that simply standing a half-full glass of water on the cowl and fiddling with the idle screws on the carburetors until the water stopped shaking was a hell of a lot easier (and faster) that farting around with that Uni-Syn.
I gave it to the guy who bought the car after I rolled it a few times.
YMMV

( mine was similar to the one in the photo, but the car was red and there was more chrome under the hood. )
