This has been ongoing project for last few years. It started as a simple polebarn attached to an early 1800s bank barn - Metal sides and roof and one sliding door. It was built for cattle and had a dirt floor. I originally used it mostly for firewood and to accumulate junk. Unfortunately I can't find any pictures of it's original state.
My shop was originally in the bank barn - low ceilings, dark and always kind of damp. At some point I decided to close in a couple bays in the pole barn, and the next year added a shed on the side for my tractor, truck and gator.
Here's what it looks like now....

I originally had a double-lift in my shop and used it for both storage and work - I have a plastic curtain that pulled across to seperate storage from work area - but grinding dust etc. was still getting on my cars (even through the covers) - So I decided to seperate storage from shop area by adding a wall seperating the remainder of the pole barn and the shed.

Just getting this together, but here's the "Showroom/Storage area..."

I put an 16 foot inner door so I can get the cars in the back area and lift out through the shed...
And here's the shop.

Just installed the Mohawk lift last week....I had a Mohawk scissors lift for years and a MaxJax, but now with the increased ceiling height (just shy of 12 feet) I am able to get under cars standing. The Mohawk is quite a piece of equipment...It was just over a ton - 1000 pounds on each end and I never would have got it in without the front end loader on my tractor.
I'll try to post some more details - I also installed standing seam roof - and 10KW of solar power panels in 2010. The siding is cyprus - from old mushroom barns, relatively cheap and matches the stone well. There are 11 garage doors - 3 in bank barn, 4 on front, 3 in shed and one seperating shed from showroom...
