I just wanted to post about my favorite general purpose socket and bit set. The Genius Tools SB-276MS. I actually have 2 of these sets, one in each vehicle. For most general purpose handyman type jobs this set is perfect.

I have never seen Genius Tools get mentioned on here very much. Based on my experience selling them back in the day, they are a high quality tool well worth the money.

What is everyone else's favorite socket/bit set?

Sockets with no ratchet?
My only complaint about the set is that the handle is not ratcheting. The handle does attach to the extensions to make either a T handle or a 45 degree driver.

Honestly tho, most of the time I am putting the socket on a cordless tool.

as much as I try to avoid anything made in China, these 40-piece kits were too cheap to pass up, and they've got all the stuff that I need to go replace a doorknob set or a light switch or some other small task, and they were so cheap I can leave them laying on the front seat while parked in front of Home Depot with all the windows rolled down and not worry about anyone stealing them. I think the yellow one was $9 bucks, and the red one was about $12. The handles are ratcheting, but the same as the OP, I usually bring a cordless Makita driver with me.
no brand name on either one. everything's the same other than the red handle bending 90° at the business end.

probably not worth a damn for anything requiring more than about 10 ft. lbs of torque, but I have real tools for things like head bolts and such.

YMMV

That's a neat set. If I could find a nice little case I'd put my own set together.

I don't have an all in one set but I've got a few bit sets..

My Kirkland "I don't care" 159 piece set I got for $80 at Costco. I use this a lot, especially for drain plugs where tools will get drenched with fluid. After using this for several years, my only regret is that I didn't buy an extra set. Probably won't ever see this price for this quality tools again.

I bought one of these WERA sets based on a recommendation in another thread (which seems to be happening a lot lately). It was on sale for $65, but it’s $80 now. I keep it in the tail bag on one of my motorcycles.
