I made this in high school shop class 40 years ago. I dont use it a lot but it is functional. The little hole drilled in the side of the head shows that it was graded by the teacher. I also made an aluminum meat tenderizer mallet that my wife still uses.

What does the hole have to do with grading? Is it so you cannot pass it off to another student to be used for a grade?

Very nice. Did you heat treat the head as well?

I made something similar in machine shop class many moons ago. Will try to upload a pic.

Yep, that was it exactly.
No it wasnt heat treated but it still works for small brads and nails or for shaping small parts.

to them no doubt it is!!
ebay's also ate up w/this mind set....

~~~~~~~
wish ebay'd code every listing everywhere the listing shows
two letters would be fine
A - auction
or
B - buy it now superstore
and
R
- R/L pricing
or
H - hahaha/ya gotta be kidding
prolly too much to ask for junk/good stuff designations....
We made a machinists hand vice too. I have a whole box of interesting projects from machine shop classes. Many on the lathe since I specialized in threads. Should probably dig them up for old time's sake.
I made an aluminum meat tenderizer to that my mom still has and I got the tenderizer my dad made in 1965. More than likely on the same machines. I bet it has beaten a lot of meat in 48 years :D
