My favorite tool store and some goodies

With the raging construction market here in the middle east, there are some high quality tool manufacturers in the industrial areas of the major cities to support all of the equipment repair. I live in Doha, Qatar and am always scouting tool stores on the weekends. A month or so back I found this store that stocks Hazet, Snap-On, USAG, a few higher quality Taiwan brands like Jonnesway and King Tony.

It's really cool to be able to walk into a store and pick up snap-on tools! Bought the SX936 ratchet seen below for $74 off a closeout rack!

That would be a nice store to have nearby. Too bad that the tool companies in USA only sell through truck/dealers. That is very inconvenient for the rest of us who don't work in shops where they stop.

Whoa - Hazet, Snap-On, etc. all under one roof... it's like a some sort of strange dream that none of us can actually realize. You're sure you haven't take a trip to the Emerald City somehow?

Other than Bosch powertools I have to order everthing online anymore. Here in America tool stores mostly sell cheap and mid range tools to DIYers. If your into Snap On every city/town usually has a Snap On truck or 2 but for everything else like Japanese, high end Taiwanese, or EU tools internet or catalog is the only way to get them.

What a nice collection. King Tony and Jonnesway are popular in South African light industries (tyres, car services, panel beaters, etc)

I thought Jonnesway was a Fastenal house brand?

Fastenal might import and sell Jonnesway, but I think they're a separate brand. I just bought a 3/4 drive set from them. Looks pretty solid and for the price it made sense. It won't get too much use on the kind of stuff I usually work on.

Calhart with such an old post it might be tricky getting the address from the op. Try this send the op a pm he might still be around the GJ.

Or plan two (my favorite) hit the yellow pages or whatever they have that lists all the tool stores/dealers in that area and make a list. Then "ROAD TRIP" and be sure and send us pictures...
