Been looking for a Craftsman block grinder since I bought my 150 drill press- falling in love with these old USA machines. Owned by a nice gal whose father just passed. Sounds like he led an amazing life and this was his home shop grinder.

Paid $100, so it wasn't a steal, but the more I read, the happier I am with it. In very good shape, and appears to have the original wheel on it, or at least one that has been on there for decades, based on the squeak from the end guard screws and condition of the label. Probably put it right to work!!

$100 is still a good price for a 3/4hp grinder that appears to be complete and in great condition. Very nice

Thanks! Yeah the only thing missing was the quench tub, but sorting through boxes with the seller I found it. Even has the little rubber isolators on the base. Surprised that the machine plate is a sticker- I was expecting that to be riveted on.

Heck, I paid $130 a couple of years ago for a Dewalt 8" 3/4hp grinder that was made in China. You're absolutely right- $100 was a good buy, especially for how seldom they come up around here.

3/4 block grinder is very rare ... I remember seeing one on CL w/ the matching stand for $75 but a fellow GJ member got there couple hrs before I did.

I have an old Made in the USA Craftsman as well. I don't think it's that big but it will spin forever after I turn it off even as old as it is. Nice score.
