My First Blue Point ratchet...

I bought this on ebay and was curious if it was a useless tool or really something cool and neat and could be used where you don't have room. Also the other side of the paper says warranty void if opened as it is sealed, I never seen that before and it says warranty void if an cheater bar and or something used to turn the handle is used besides your hand. What do you think is the handle a neat idea to turn the head when you don't have room or want to turn it quicker or a joke tool? I have seem cheap ones, but wanted a nice new one to try...

hows it work? how close of a ratio does it have? how much was it? IMO i think they're kind of useless...but then again, in tight areas, it might be a life saver, if you can get your hand around it enough to turn it.

about 50 with shipping and it seems to be a fine tooth ratchet, but I just got it so I can't say much about it. Snap on stopped making them, but still makes a kit for it. You turn the handle and it turns the socket to tighten the bolt/nut without moving the ratchet.

I don't think any of the blue Point hard line tools are thought as anything other than imported tools with alittle higher than normal prices. So I would treat that ratchet with kid gloves if they are already giving the dealer an out for fixing it free. May be a lightly used type of collectors ratchet for me.

It feels nice, and the best part for Merkava, it says MADE in TAIWAN!!!!! Damn SNAP ON, being cheap again, and since I can't open it with out voiding the warranty how do I add the RLL? IT was brand spanking new, so unlike most of my SO tools, it looks really nice and only has my finger prints on it, and I like the thought it is a virgin tool and might stay that way, hahahaha

It is a very nice ratchet. I think you bought it from the ebay motor store. There is a guy who lists it in the hand tool category and is cheaper. I bought two from him already. I still bids on his but in the last a couple auctions, they sold with BIN. I am getting more for gifts but have not seen him listing in the last week or so. He might have sold out.

The speed action (the hand twist part) is an added benefit but the ratchet itself is a smooth, fine toothed ratchet.

Did you get a tube of toothpaste in the package? Just wonder if it is the same seller.

No tube of tooth paste, maybe this was the guy who bought most of them... I don't feel bad at close to 50, it is nice and I had a coupon that dropped the price some on ebay. I look at it as sometimes all of the good deals I have gotten make up for some of the not as great ones, it all works out and I am happy.

I have one and love it. I don't use it for breaking things loose or final tightening, but in a tight spot it's a life saver.
