My first cordless set.

I saw a Milwaukee M18 set on clearence in Home Depot today down from $300 to $269. I thought "what the hell" and used a HF coupon, ended up being a little more than $200.

The set came with a one-handed Sawzall, compact drill, 1/4" impact driver, and shop light; along with 2 compact batteries and charger. I am a little dissapointed about the compact batteries, but I can't complain for the price.

I have never truly owned a Li-ion cordless set, and never really tried them out outside of HD or Lowes. I am VERY impressed to say the least. I built a workbench today and used the Sawzall to cut wood, the drill to pilot holes, and the impact to put in screws. I am amazed at how much a good set of cordless tools makes your life easier. The one-handed Sawzall is unique in itself, allowing for metal cutting in tight spaces. The drill is powerful, and the impact is amazing (I got the most use out of the impact today).

I probably would not have purchased these if it were not for the price, but looking back, it was worth any price. I am very happy at the end of the day, and I am just amazed by the abilities these tools have.

Next up; I am going to get some high capacity batteries and a full size hammer drill.

One day a buddy asked what my favorite tool was, and after thinking for a minute I realized it was my lithium-ion cordless drill. I use it all the time and absolutely love it. Mine is one of the older Cman professional 20v.

I'm not familiar with that Milwaukee lineup, but if they have an impact wrench available I would recommend one of those. I prefer using my cordless one over pneumatic.

Congrats on the purchase. Take care of them and they should last you a long time!

Buy some 1/4 quick change drill bits for the impact and that will quickly become a favorite. Way more torque than a drill and quick to change. Sounds like u got a great deal. How did u use the hf coupon?

I forgot to mention i did buy a set of impact bits.

As for the HF coupon, as i was checking out i asked the cashier if they took competitor's coupons, she said yes. I gave it to her and she got a manager's approval and i was all set. I might mention that the HF is literally right across the street.

A quality set of power tools are always worth getting. I used my bosch 12v and 18v all the time. It just makes things go faster and easier.
