Been lurking for along time, lots of reading, lots of good ideas, but its getting time to start my garage

After using friends/family garages for years the fiance and I finally bought a house and now its time to make a proper garage. still working with my town to get the requirements for distance from my swamp lands so i can finalize the size but looks like a 32x32 should work. so far i have one bid for a custom pole barn and i was completely blown away by the price, 32x32 pole barn assembled without the foundation, electrical, insulation, or any interior finishing, with 2-9x8 garage doors with openers, 6 windows and 1 door for 35k :eyecrazy:. waiting for a couple other builders to call me back still but i was blown away by the pole barn price.

I have the concrete guy coming by on Monday to give me the estimate for the driveway and to talk about the foundation for the garage but cant get a price on that till i get the plans all done which like I said I'm waiting on the town to get back to me on the requirements.

this is my first build, so any help or advice would be great, i will update this as it progresses with pics as it goes on.

I built a 32 X 32 last year. I know garages are never big enough but 1000 sq ft works for me. Can't give you any help on the pole barn type because mine was stick built @$50 per sq ft.
