Hello from Central Virginia!
Been lurking here awhile, looks like a good spot for some advice and constructive criticism for my garage build!
1. I'm a Civil Engineer by profession but I don't work directly in structural engineering in my day job so my AUTOCAD skills are mediocre but I think I'm getting close on the design.
2. Planning a 24'x32' footprint with 24" footwall on footings, floating 5" reinforced slab and 10/12 pitched roof using engineered attic trusses to give me a bonus room of 12'x32' with 7.5' ceiling!
3. I'm fighting about 24" of grade from right rear to front left corners which is why I elected to go with a footwall on footings so I could avoid cutting and retaining walls so close to the house, plus I fell an 8' stud wall is stronger than a 10' stud wall, plus I will have no worries on moisture damage on the walls. Open to comments on this.
