Great progress!
Any plans for the flooring or are you just going to replace the slab down the road and dont want to do anything with the current slab?

I currently have a bunch of markers and measurements across the cracks, I want to see if the slab will move or heave this winter before we go one way or another.

Wow is that ever nice!!

Thanks! It will be used well.

Against my better judgment, I started filling some of the "more stable" cracks in the floor with silkaflex.

37962028194_880dd985af_c.jpg

So frustrated with the floor but not enough to go nuclear on it yet. Just bugs me is all.
Looks like someone tried to patch it at some point but i'm not sure.
We will see how much it heaves this winter once things start to get cold before any major decisions are made. Mine is one of the better floors in our entire neighborhood. They did poorly or didn't do at all, any compacting of the floors in the garages around here before pouring.

Put up some signs I acquired through college in the garage. Needed something on the walls before storage goes up. Too much white, didn't feel homey.

Got a new tool for the garage as well, I "needed" it for the wife's crown moulding on her kitchen cabinets.

Turned out ok on the first row, it's just math really.

Hoping for some garage cabinets from Santa.

home automation panel?

did they handle it all for you or did you install it?
what does it control?

I work for a home automation installer so I do it myself. Controls lights, fans, distributed audio/video, music streaming, security and a bunch of other random stuff.

Got my first discount cabinet. It's been a bear finding the cabinets I want at cheapo prices. I got this corner cabinet for $20, so I'll be slowly adding as I find them. Timing is everything.

Luck was on my side this weekend for discount/returned brand new cabinets!
Now have 3, only spent 64 bucks so far.
I plan to add another 24" cabinet overtop the outlet, this will hide the irrigation controller, undercabinet lighting, and charging batteries.

Not really, I've been doing a lot of landscaping outside this past month.
I did find another cabinet for above the work bench to finish the south wall row.
I also added an LED strip light below the cabinets but that will be torn out soon, just too blue looking for light and hurts the eyes when working on fine projects.

I have a ton of attic work left to do but it's way to warm up there now that summer is in full swing.
Been keeping an eye out for discount metal cabinets but nothing that's caught my eye yet.
Hopefully a garage heater and attic insulation this fall/winter, maybe some sort of french cleat system to for the west wall... don't know yet.
I really want a new garage door opener, irrigation controller....ect.

Out with the old, in with the new.
Much better on the eyes instead of the bluish tint the led strip had.
I did have to add some shoe base to cover the lights since they hung down a little. I didn't want to set the lights any farther back under the cabinets due to shadows.

Nice evolution of the 3-car garage. That 6-3 wire looks like it weighs a ton. The walls, barrel table and your workstation area turned out great. Subscribed!

Our road is getting a bunch of improvements.
Which leads to the current idea to widen the driveway.
We had the choice of curb and decided to go with the widest that's available @ 24'.
I tired my best to bribe the construction crew but no luck.:(

Now we just have to match the rest of the driveway. I have a few quotes coming in but most are too busy and are pricing accordingly. Might just cold patch or try to get some hot asphalt delivered and dig it out and pave myself.
The driveway itself is in ok condition for it's age but will more than likely be replaced in 5-7 years but that's a hard pill to swallow as most want 5-6k to re-do.
Any ideas?
And before you ask we can't get the driveway full width all the way down, 24' is the max width until the setback then 27' after that, hence the narrower entrance.

You certainly have the option to do nothing. It looks just fine appearance wise as it is. Most people pulling into the driveway would use the existing drive width as their guide.

Winter ***** and our driveway end starts to get narrow very quickly. Running a snowblower over grass isn't a pleasurable experience. Additionally my wife loves to run over our sprinkler head on the right side of the driveway, even markers fall victim to her suv of lawn destruction.

kTHREE, I understand your reasoning. My driveway is wide enough for three cars from the street to the garage and I'd have problems if it was narrower. We're on a busy street so I like to K-turn in the driveway and pull out nose-first (I also back the cars into the garage). For now you might be able to put concrete squares in that area on the left of the driveway. A 7.25" diamond blade on your saw can help make the squares fit the angle. Put a little asphalt sealer on them until you can find a reasonable price to re-do the whole thing.

I assume this is what you want for a driveway:

I wish, too many city regulations.
I didn't think about using pavers, comes out about about half the cost of cold patch asphalt bags but might take longer to achieve with the cuts and all.

More pre-insulation work during a cool day.
Added a yagi for ota channels, not that we would use it much outside of local sports but better to do it now vs trudging through blown insulation.
Got 63 some channels, maybe 5 that actually show content, the rest are home shopping and jesus 24/7.

Stair upgrade day, was going to do something cool with pavers or whatnot but the math just didn't work out.
I think this turned out well.

Before
37582877211_0c0a53960e_c.jpg

After.
Will probably add a railing for looks just to finish it off somehow, maybe.

Added some more automation to the inside of the house to control the garage.
Door: opens the garage door, pink when open.
Lights: turns on the fan lights, pink when on.
Garage: turns on the sound, pink then on.
EXIT: turns the entire house off and opens the garage door.

Man I hate the "new" flickr. Had to remove a much of my photos to stay under the 1000 limit. I'll try to update a few of these.

Re driveway - Concerning pavers - Take a look @ NDS® 24" x 24" Tufftrack Grassroad Pavers and or 24" x 16" Turfstone Paver - Both available @ Menards.

I like the way this is turning out. I started mine around August of this year (2018). Many of the things you are doing are on my list yet.

Corner workstation complete, slowly but surely I got all my cabinets via the discount bin!
Now the long wait for warmer temps to stain and poly.

The house I close on at the end of the month has a very similar 3 car garage, just with more spider webs...
Going to be doing a similar type set up but will be keeping a small car in the third bay.

I had that in mind as well, the workbench on the left is very short, 20" IIRC and not built in. That way if I ever get to move it, aka I have enough money for a fun car, i can.

In the future an outdoor shed will house the snowblower/lawn gear/garbage.

Been a while since I've done some work on the garage. Having a child will do that I guess.
Had a recent bout of hail and decided to replace the garage doors, one had hail damage so naturally we had to replace both. Nice insulated doors now and the jackshaft mounted garage door opener. You'll notice we got rid of the nasty green sofit and trim around the house as well.

Also started in working on the attic, put some cheap flooring down and some batts of insulation below. Possibly going to batt the rest or just do blown in.

48896327813_6f4df4a5cc_z.jpg

Hoofing things up and down the ladder kind of ***** even if it's not heavy so I took a boat winch and some 2x4, made life a little easier.

You can get a pile of **** up there and more headroom than my garage attic
I put some shelves in trusses but likely only have a few hundred pounds in attic. Stuff that i won't toss but might need, like 3 '80s's GM steering columns:headscrat

HA! I'm more thinking winter storage. Summer wheels/tires, kids toys, lawn stuff. I don't know what I would want to subject to summer heat up there, snow shovels?

I was torn on using it as space, or just blown insulation in the whole thing. I just couldn't turn down such a large storage area.

Found some cheapo r-19 batts that were on closeout, couldn't resist. It's not blown in but works for the time being.
That was a good afternoon laying down 500 sq ft, my hurts from crouching in the rafters that for sure. Really going to hate putting in chutes if I ever get around to doing blown insulation on top.

At least you can see where to step. My house has blown-in insulation and its a messing pile of **** that covers everything, including wiring and where to place my feet. Id swap you for batts in a heartbeat.

Blast from the past and back in action. Lots new but primarily a new IR tube heater, it's glorious.
Just have to finish up the wiring and seal up the ducts but the first trial run works great.
Kind of an odd time of the year to install but when it's time it's time.

Thanks for the update.

Did you ever get the shed built for the mower and snowblower you mentioned earlier in the thread?
We hit the easy button and did a 6x10 tuff shed. Wasn't worth the time/cost of lumber at the moment we were looking to build ourselves. Only screwup was the pitch of the roof on the shed but that was my fault, otherwise nothing to note operability wise.

My first house I had that type garage where there was a good step up from garage floor to house level.
I build two hanging racks above the garage door.
One side held my spare lumber (for woodworking and such)
And the other side held the big ladder and Christmas decor
