Well, I had some spare time this afternoon so I stopped in at one of the downtown pawnshops. Rummaged around for awhile and picked out a few things.

10" RIDGID Pipe Wrench
BRINK & COTTON C-Clamp Made in USA
BLACKHAWK GW-9550 1/4" Driver
No-Name Metric 14 piece 6 point 1/4" drive socket set

I dug around hoping to find some more USA made c-clamps but no luck. The pipe wrench was marked '$14.99' and they had a sign out claiming all tools were 40% off. The other three items were not priced. I took everything to the counter and he looked at the socket set to see if it was brand name or not, then told me $20 for everything. I was hesitant at first but then I agreed. *shrug*

Adrien,

Nice buys for your first pawn shop visit.

I have found that most pawn shops pad their prices a bit :) , and are -usually- receptive to a counter-offer.

Try offering $10 or $15 next time, you might be surprised what they will accept! The worst they say is "no" and it leaves more money in your pocket... for buying more tools!
