I just purchased my first Plumb tools. Found them on Craigslist and had to have them. The set is missing the 1/2" (had a Craftsman in its place). The set appears to be unused or has very little use. The ratchet, breaker bar, and all the sockets except for one have clear laquer on them. It comes off very easily. Was this original? It can be seen on the picture of the socket and breaker.

Yeah...I have sockets with lacquer too. Leave the clear lacquer on. You don't want to remove it. While I firmly believe in using old tools, this set is not for using. It is for 
worshipping. Great score.
NO WAIT! According to a recent GJ thread, old tools are worthless. Sorry to let you down like that, but...some guys who only like new tools said that, so...it must be true.

The cost was a whopping $25.00 and the guy made sure that he gave me a receipt for it. Like, I would bring it back.

I bid on a set that was almost identical to that in the box and everything on ebay last year and it ended up going for $83 so I would say you did extremely well!

-yeah, you should send that Plomb set to me.
I still don't own a Plomb anything, all I seem to run across are Plomb 9/16 sockets. If I buy another brand/variation of a 9/16 socket I'm gonna end it all...a nice long walk off a short pier.

I'd drive a long way to get one of those! And at that prive, even farther.
I thought everybody would like the box. I was surprised (with a smile on my face) also.
I had to hold up dinner to pickup the goods and the wife wasn't pleased. She just watched the whole process, had to take pictures, had to post them, had to wait for the responses. She then rolled her eyes and said "it's just old tools" and "boys".
I smiled, thinking-----she has no clue.
If anybody has any information on what the set should have in it would be great help.
Also the missing socket is needed.
