Hello everyone. I've done 5 prior garage floors using 2-part epoxy products with great results. This time around, I'm going with Legacy Industrial's Nohr-S polyurea product kit, with the Nohr-S primer. I'll be doing a medium to medium-heavy flake broadcast (not full broadcast), in a 710sq ft 3 car garage. It's already been diamond ground and is ready to start tomorrow. A few quick questions for the experts who have used polyurea before:

1. I'm going to apply it the same as I've always done epoxy, pour it out of the bucket around my working area, squeegee it to spread it out, and backroll it evenly. Any reason to deviate from that basic approach?
2. After I apply the Nohr-S primer, I'm planning on letting that sit over night, then do the Nohr-S basecoat the next day, flake that, then let that setup over night, and do the top coat on day 3. Any reason to deviate from that plan? I see the product spec sheet says "recoats 2-3 hours", but I want the best result I can get and don't care how long it takes, so what is optimal recoat time in your opinion?

That's it for now, thanks
John

Follow the instructions. It's OK to squeegee and back roll the epoxy if you want to. However, there is no advantage to doing that. It's only necessary when applying 90% - 100% solids epoxy where the entire contents need to be poured out in ribbons immediately after mixing. Don't forget to follow the dwell time. You need to wait a minimum of 8-10 hours after applying the primer coat before applying the Nohr-S color coat. Do Not wait longer than 24.

Do not pour out the Nohr-S and squeegee it. It starts curing as soon as it hits the concrete and begins to get spread out. You will run out of time to back roll and toss the flakes as you go. Also, if you wait till you are done covering the floor before tossing the flakes, it's too late. Follow the instructions to work with a roller out of a paint tray in sections and toss the flakes as you work across the floor. You can wait longer than 2-3 hours to apply the clear coat but do not wait longer than 12 or it's too late. There is no advantage to waiting longer than the 2-3 hours.

Thank you Shea; I had some trouble finding the Nohr-S installation instructions, thus the reason for my post.... but, I just went back and looked again and found them on Legacy's website, I was just blind. With that, and your guidance, I've got a solid game plan now!

Garage floor is done and turned out great. Shout out to Scotti at Legacy Industrial, he noticed I ordered the wrong primer and fixed up my order proactively keeping my project on track. This is my first polyurea floor and I'm definitely a big fan of this product over 2 part epoxy, at least from an installation perspective. We let the primer set up overnight, did the base coat and flakes the next morning, with the top coat going on about 3 hours after that. By the following morning, the floor was dry enough to walk on and do some final cleanup. Thanks to garage forums for the assistance, as always.
