My first project, garage shelves

I'm about to start my first project in my first house; putting up some garage shelves

I installed some Hyloft overhead storage above the garage doors and I'm happy with how it turned out

Now, I want to put some shelves along two walls, intersecting in an L, about 14' and 8' respectively

I'm thinking something fairly heavy duty (could hold tubs of housegoods, and hang a bike or ladder from them) and about 24" deep

I'm debating between overhead or wall mounted, DIY or premade.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

For 10 years I had Ikea Broder metal shelving system that covers one side of my wall, approximately your size (20'x8'). It works out great but things got clutter and it took a lot of effot/time organizing to make it look presentable.

I recently phasing out of shelving and invest in more of cabinets (10' long workbench w/ metal drawers, overhead cabinets, and standing cabinets).

I spent about $500 for the IKEA shelvings but spending $2000+ on cabinets is more worth it. The cabinets have a clean look and does not make things clutter in the garage space.

SKIP THE SHELVINGS AND GET CABINETS.

I hear you, and that makes sense. We are doing some cabinets...

But I also wanted some storage up and out of the way for bulky tubs and seasonal stuff that we don't need access to very often.
