Red: did you put stain over BLO on your wood drawer you made for your bench or just stain?

some of the guys buy rubber hockey pucks and drill a hole in them to put under their compressors. just a thought in case you might not want to bolt it down.

I just cranked the heat up let it dry then stained it, no BLO I really didn't want to put too much effort into the wood. I see the wood as a "consumeable". If it gets messed up toss it and go again. I also cut some thick rubber pads for the compressor I'll take pics later...I ended up giving the shopsmith and a craftsman drill press project(I had posted it up in the 150 thread but since I got the enco eh I'll get good karma for passing it along) to a friend. Just something I didn't want to tackle. I do not do much wood so I won't miss neither of them. However I did start trying out some forge burner ideas

Here is the rubber sheets I put under the compressor about 1/2in thick. Tomorrow I hope to fix my plumbing amongst other things

The shop isnt bad just dialing it in, also hodge podged a light for the welding table

So does anyone know about forges. I started building my own custom burner even tapered the tip with a 12:1 flare. Started the "forge station" beginning with some old lathe legs and a beer keg forge tank. The tank is 9x19 should I have one or two burners or three? I can always cut it shorter it's really mostly to do small stuff. The plan is to kaowool it then satanite. Hopefully someone can chime in on how many burners I need and also how does my burner look decent flame? Also started reworking my air compressor plumbing, the issue was I was not able to isolate the dryer. Now I can choose either dry air or regular air.

Next thing is a plasma cutter hence the dryer. I did some floorboards in a car last night for a customer and a cutter would have made that WAY easier

Red: if there isn't a forge thread in fabrication section then I suggest you start one cause I bet a lot of members would like one if they knew how easy to make and use. here's a thread where you can ask ANDY some questions cause he's been melting aluminum and now all sorts of metal for the past year or so. AND he's a smart and funny old guy.

Wow have I been busy between work, dialing in the shop and building my third honda c70(finally one for me) I completely neglected gj. Anyway finally got around to actually organizing tools. First off dont judge A LOT of tools are "out" however I like having the ones i use the most at my fingertips. This is where the work bench sits as of right now. The mats are old magnetic signs. I like them because if you drop a nut or bolt they dont bounce and tools do not roll.

Did you end up designing some new jaws for the Odin vise?
